By youtube standards he's right up with Gorgeous George.

I have not seen much of him to be honest but have heard hes regarded as being very similar in style to Drogba.

Considering he's only 17 hes scored some amount of goals at senior level and in european has to have real talent to be doing that so young

interesting.

cheers

Big Phil has the highest shooting accuracy of any player in the Portuguese top flight this season, which I'm sure you will all agree is interesting.

regardless of your country-challenged response, you clearly didn't read my fantastic post on Page 1 which basically said "i would be interested to see how Big Phil would do because i'm not so sure this kid would be any better...etc."

that is all.

Off BM by a belgian fan

Hi, I'm belgian and a great fan of RSC anderlecht and Lukaku himself.
His tweets and facebook status has nothing to do with his possible transfer to city.
Tonight he's possible to win the 'gouden schoen'. That's the biggest football prize that can be awarded to a player who plays in the belgian league. And that's hosted in Ostend.
About his transfer to city, today it was on the site of belgium's biggest paper.
But he will stay in Anderlecht till summer, but then he would go the premier league his dad said. Anderlecht wants 30 million euro's and he's worth it but city wants to give 21 so it's enough. I'll keep you posted when I hear some more news. I follow every match of Romelu and he can be one of the greatest forwards in the world!

Another news, Vincent Kompany is chosen by belgium's media and footballers as best belgian player in another league!

And excuse me for my poor english!

Looks like another Caicedo to me. Goal ratio is impressive but the premier league is totally different. Samaras was once amazing.

Samaras was 21, had roughly a 1 in 4 strikerate for Heerenveen.
Caicedo was 20, had less than 1 in 3 strikerate for Basel.
Lukaku is 17, has a better than 1 in 2 strikerate for Anderlecht.

Yeah, like I said I haven't seen him play (although been going through youtube and net now) but honestly 17 year old kid having 1 in every two strikerate at ANY league against grown men is bloody impressive.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Lukaku has been billed as the best striking prospect in world football with Neymar more or less, and he appears to have a much better temperament than the Brazilian. Chelsea and Arsenal have been chasing him for ages and I would love it if we got him, however he loves Chelsea and Didier Drogba so that would definitely be his first choice, I think we will have to do some serious persuasion on him to pull this one off.

I like the look of this player, with the right guiding Caicedo can be turned into a very good player. Levante claim they have €1m agreed deal for him already. Is there any truth in this?

Lukaku is too young to make the grade at the premier league I've seen fair amount of Anderlecht games mainly because of him and I can't see him getting regular starters at any top club. If he move to Chelsea he can be a bench warmer for good few years. A bit shit Belgian football is. That Serbian at Liverpool looked like a beast there now they don't know what to do with him.

look, we wouldn't buy him as instant starter but the way 'the homegrown rule' is, he would count as homegrown player forever as long as we bought him before he turns 18. Considering what a massive talent he seems to be, he'd be well worth the shot at this stage. We can always send him on loan to get first team football.

Fact that you are suggesting Caicedo is some sort of alternative makes me wonder as well. With the first touch he has, he will NEVER be one of the world's elite strikers. Especially not in England where you get little space anyway.

I try to avoid looking at Youtube when judging players but as I don't see much Belgian football it's the only way with this bloke. It's pretty clear even from seeing Youtube clips that this lad has just about every attribute neccessary to be a PL striker. He's got the physique, pace & has skill & can head a ball & has regularly scored goals. That's all you need. Then if/ when he arrives we find out for sure whether he's got the brains & attiude to develop & make the most of it.

They do a hell of a lot of background checks now, so I doubt they'll sign him unless they think he's got the temperament to succeed.

If we were depending on him as a main striker for this season then there's no room for error but as a future striker as one of 4? Not that much of a gamble imo.

I agree with your view about getting him as a long term investment. Will be interesting to see who is gonna get him with so many teams being interested.

Caicedo is ok he will never be a world beater but he can be a good squad player for a top team including.

Reserves, Academy, on loan or something like that. However, if he turns out to be elite striker, it will be nice to have him count towards homegrown quota don't you think?
