I can't stand the old cunt (coming from a football perspective) but I don't and won't wish him dead.

And when someone starts a thread which is clearly of the nature of a 'Get well soon' variety then surely one should either join in along those lines or shut the fuck up.

It's like the people who can't seem to resist entering a R.I.P. thread with some 'opposite viewpoint'.

It's not cool, nor clever. It's downright disrespectful, puerile, infantile and, most of all, pathetic.

My comment was purely factual - any thread started does (indeed is intended to) invite comments - I most certainly said nothing of a disrespectful nature - I was just trying to explain something - and of course wish I had not bothered

Alright, he was absolute shite but I got used to him being around & I admired his ability to come up with not even mildly funny one liners about any given subject. By saying things like that it kinda implies that we're doing it just to look good.
