I mean no disrespect to Robson - but he was not a CITY player

If the thread gets started it invites comments - such things are always sad to the people involved - but this particular situation is none of our business

It's a football forum, not a City forum.

A City Forum you tit...it was 10 years ago and it is now..you want a football forum fuck off and find one.

Mancityfans.net football forum for Man City fans.

Yes it is a city forum but....

The Maine Football forum
Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Can't believe people are saying we shouldn't talk about it as it 'provokes' people. Said people should take a look at themselves tbf.

Hmm

Does it though?

I have to admit that I cringe every time I see a City fan wishing Ferguson dead - it's a game ffs!
I can't stand the old cunt (coming from a football perspective) but I don't and won't wish him dead.

And when someone starts a thread which is clearly of the nature of a 'Get well soon' variety then surely one should either join in along those lines or shut the fuck up.

It's like the people who can't seem to resist entering a R.I.P. thread with some 'opposite viewpoint'.

It's not cool, nor clever. It's downright disrespectful, puerile, infantile and, most of all, pathetic.
Those who feel the need to intervene in such a way come across, to me, like one of those total pricks who can't keep their gob shut during a minute's silence.

Well I will back off - I do not want to end up in a situation where anything I say comes across disrespectful to someone who is ill which I do not mean

Just did not think that there was a need for a thread on this forum - we did not have one for Besian Idrizaj (or at least that I can remember) or many other people who are suffering or have suffered serious illness - but who have no association with MAN CITY

Anyway no big deal for me I was just trying to explain why some might have queried

My comment was purely factual - any thread started does (indeed is intended to) invite comments - I most certainly said nothing of a disrespectful nature - I was just trying to explain something - and of course wish I had not bothered

Know where folk are coming from with the sympathy thing, when Jade Goodie died I couldn't give a shit, for a moment I maybe thought' poor lass to die so young' then the moment was gone and all I could think of was all the hypocrites who were probably calling her a gob shite before she got cancer. Just as I wasn't fucked up when Princess Di, Michael Jackson and Bob Monkhouse passed away. I don't know them personally so not going to get maudy over it, feel for them but just same as if a friend of a friend says they've lost a mate who i don't know with it. More sorry for Mabel down the road who I do know, who as it (she doesn't, there is NO Mabel, but you get the gist).

I was sorry to hear the news when Bob Monkhouse went. I had many a slight smile at his jokes over the years. He wasn't funny but he was quick.

Showing your age here, Ted. Monkhouse was about as entertaining as gout!

Which part of 'he wasn't funny' are you struggling with?

That suggests you found him watchable/entertaining. I never mentioned the word 'funny'.

I was being polite, as he's dead. I'm not cruel like you.

Alright, he was absolute shite but I got used to him being around & I admired his ability to come up with not even mildly funny one liners about any given subject. It would have been a lot simpler to come up with something funny but, Bob, like Dennis Norden, had a remarkable ability to avoid even the slightest hint of doing or saying anything remotely amusing, yet the audience would laugh heartily anyway. I was going to say 'they don't make them like that anymore' but they do.

Doubt he would give a shit about my medical complaints, so seeing as I have no affinity with the rag cunt, I don't give a shit about him either. He is just another person in this world who I don't know.

On the subject of cancer in general, I wouldn't wish cancer on my worst enemy, and I hope the countless millions of sufferers come through or make the most of the time they have left

Sorry, this annoys me a little too......we shouldn't congratulate ourselves for basic human compassion. It should just be normal.

By saying things like that it kinda implies that we're doing it just to look good. It almost implies too that there's a kinda 'look at us being so good and saying nice things DESPITE him being a dirty fucking rag fucker' undertone to it - which is wrong. It should not even be considered that he once played for united.

No offence meant, Craig - genuinely sure you meant no harm. It just touched a nerve about the whole munich celebration thing for me. I found how we sang about behaving well during the minute's silence incredibly embarrassing. It just doesn't make the thing seem sincere at all.....

What a bizarre reaction. I'd remain an occasional visitor to the site if that post wound you up
