Yep the little welsh wing wizzard managed to simply disappear at the Etihad. Or did he just fall off the wing ?

Balance this with him on one leg recently, and you might get it. He is class whatever you me or anyone thinks. The most expensive British player if he goes to Spain.

Are we seriously going to judge him on one game?

I didn't write that. Mind you he made him look a bit like a mug last season with that curler at our place..

The ball he played at WHL was the pass of the season, and he has mugged Hart.

What's Joe Hart got to do with how good Gareth Bale is?

On his day Bale looks the bollox but he doesn't do it often enough for me though, at the moment. If he can put a season together where he continually puts class performances in then, and only then, can he be classed as 'World Class'.

He scored 30 odd goals last season mate. I'd say that's fairly consistent. Of course he went through dry ish spells but so does everyone. He scored goals throughout the season. Didn't he go on a run of about 7/8 games where he scored? That's consistency.
Would you say Aguero and Silva are world class? Both are also very inconsistent.

The media (desperate to have a british superstar) are setting up the "£85m for Bale" price, he's injury prone bellend with his STUPID so called trademark celebration.

I'm not saying that he isn't showing signs of making it, I'm saying he isn't there yet. 30 odd sounds a lot where I'm sure the figure was 30 or 31 with 20 of them coming in the PL. That is a very good haul and he was well worth his PL PotS but at the same time he wasn't treated with the same respect as those who the oppostion had plans for; it was if nobody realised that Bale was now playing free role and playing much further forward and taking every freekick.

Like I said, I wouldn't class him as 'World Class' until he does it consistently or single handedly dragged Spurs into at least a position where they are getting CL. He hasn't done that yet but there's no saying he won't. We'll just after wait and see.

Wow, you're a tough marker Beefy. He practically dragged Spuds up the ladder.

They were well away in the top 4. Where'd they finish?

Without him they'd have been battling it out with Liverpool and West Brom to get a 'respectable' top half finish.

Bale really showed last season he has an all-round game, in my opinion, and I expect him to continue that next season. He would have been my priority purchase this summer - not at £85m, but I would have put an offer of £40-50m in, even if that used up most of our transfer budget. Whether Spurs would have accepted that is another thing. Real Madrid will be the only club who will pay the silly sums being talked about in the media.

The stupid heart celebration can fuck off though.
