How much respect is Adebayor showing Mancini by mouthing off to the press about issues that should stay in house?

Adebayor is a great player of that there is no doubt, unfortunately he is only a great player when Adebayor wants to be.
So the problem that Mancini has is obvious.. it is all about attitude. Unfortunately Adebayor has just shown that he still doesn't realise that and possible never will. He is asking for respect, well I for one respect his footballing ability, but have no respect for his overall persona, happy chappy he might be but unfortunately that doesn't make a reliable team mate.

Back in the first half of the season we really needed a solid secon striker to stand up and take some responsibility and Ade was nowhere to be seen.. sore foot, headache or whatever and poor for games when he was given a chance.
Not good enough and he has just made all the wrong noises to confirm it.

good player + no commitment = fuclin shame.

Also, he was easily one of the best defensive forwards in the box on corners and free kicks in the league. Always had a head on something and in the right place defensively.

i wish he were here, because as others have said he wouldn't be doing worse than Jayko or Balo. Proven premiership goal-scoring ability that we're lacking.

i also don't believe he's lazy. He does get disillusioned and goes missing when the team isn't playing and getting him involved. Wouldn't be the first forward to get frustrated with a lack of balls or service, would he? ANd wrt to him mentioning the shooting incident in every interview -- i'm sure he's still suffering some post-traumatic stress shit. he can talk about it every day as far as i'm concerned if he were to get back in the team and make a difference. whatever helps him deal with it.

cheers

I absolutely agree about the defensive headers part. Ade was great to have for free kicks and corners, maybe it was the strikers instinct but he seemed to get his head on a disproportionate number of corners when we were defending. Would he have a role to play against Stoke - Fuck yes! Would be an almost certain starter for me.

With him, Yaya and grandad Pat we could out-Stoke Stoke if we needed too. It could go down as the ugly cup final.

There are always two sides to a story. Expect Mancini's version of the sub story would be slightly different. A substitution that late in the game is usually a stalling tactic of some kind but as we were losing, WTF was he ever going to do in less than a minute. Good managers should be able to admit they have made mistakes though, if that is the case here. I should think Mancini was probably putting Ade in his place by giving him less than a minute, probably a reaction to something that had gone before. I hope they can resolve their issues. Ade made a good impression on me early on when he was here, must admit it faded a bit towards the end but I am not convinced yet that either ED or Mario offer a great deal more..

We were not losing when he came on. It was a 0-0 draw!!!

Struggles in early part of season & fails to score, only six starts between August & October 3 wins 2 draws (Spurs & Juve) 1 defeat (Sunderland)

21/10 scores 3 v Poznan. Dropped. 24/10 gets on as a sub v Arsenal. 30/10 Scores v Wolves. 4/11 Scores v Poznan. Dropped. 10/11 Sub v rags. 1/12 sub v Salsburg. Never plays again. Meanwhile of course, Jo was setting the Prem & Europe alight.

Ted,

If you were managing a team and had a player in your squad that you felt was not the best person to have around would you stick with him because of his record?

We don't know what goes on day to day behind the scenes and how much of a disruption any player causes so who are we to judge Mancini on whether he is right or wrong where Adebayor is concerned?

I know if I was manager and had a player that's 27 years old that can't grasp the offside rule I'd be pulling my hair out because of him. And that's just based on what I see on the pitch.
