Otherwise yeah it's decent, and better then the Le Coq Sportif effort that had white piping between every stripe.

I'm pretty sure it will be in gold mate.....Pompey have had theirs in gold in recent years so pretty sure its allowed per the PL

We are Umbros flagship account. I'd expect nothing less. Setting a global standard really. Amazing stuff.

Yeah, I know we are. But after getting several fag end copies/rehashes of other "bigger" teams shirts over the years all this flagship account malarky takes some getting used to!

I think this shirt might have to be another Balotelli....he's going to be epic....maybe!

Are we getting a new home kit fo sho?

Hmm, I don't buy football shirts but this one has a hint of Freddy Krueger about it, which tempts me.

Similiar to this year's but a traditional V-Neck collar, a "soundwave graphic" of the word bluemoon running across the front and written somewhere around the back collar I'm lead to believe. Not seen it myself but the people who have are not that fussed about it - more interest in this red and black one. Current navy blue away kit is our official champions league away kit.

Hmmm not sure about the sleeves either to be honest... I preferred the way they go on the 1976 shirts, longways and not sideways. Gonna look strange on a longsleeve...

No pictures of the longsleeve yet only a black silhouette.

From http://www.beautifulgear.com/2011/05/um ... -away-kit/

When I saw the players wearing it yesterday I thought they all had hoodies on with the black neck

Umbro Manchester City 2011/12 Away Shirt

Manchester City brought the FA Cup trophy home today with a victory parade that was definitely worthy of breaking a 35 year title draught. 10,000 supporters gathered to see the start of the parade from Albert Square and my sources in Manchester tell me their still going strong. On top of partying their faces off, the Citizens also released their brand new away kit by Umbro for the 2011/12 season. Have a look at what Citeh will defend the Cup in when they hit the road:

“The inspiration for the 2011/2012 away kit is taken from the most famous shirt in the club’s history – the black and red shirt worn in 1969 and 1970 during which time City won the FA Cup, League Cup and European Cup Winners Cup.”

To achieve the ‘tailored’ Umbro look for the 2011/2012 away shirt, our designers draped black and red fabric over the silhouette of the modern day ‘arms out’ goal celebration.

The shirt is designed so that when a player celebrates a goal or links arms with team mates, the black and red stripe remains consistent. For this reason, there is no seam on the underarm as traditionally stitching can distort the shape and flow of a stripe.

The stripe width on the shirt was inspired by the old 1969 kit. The long sleeve version features an all-black forearm so that there is a unified stripe-look when the players link arms in goal celebrations.

“The club crest and sponsor detail is key-lined in gold in order to give standout against the black and red. City’s home colour, sky blue, is featured within the crest so that the away kit always carries a piece of ‘home’. Black stitching is used on the cuff of the shirt and an equal amount of black and red is featured on the hem. ”

“David Blanch, Senior Designer at Umbro, said: “Umbro’s kit designs for City are centred on being modern – not retro. So with this shirt, we married the aesthetic of the 1969 shirt with the modern day ‘arms out’ goal celebration. The result is a shirt which is a celebration of both the future and the past.”

“This is a football ‘shirt’ in the truest sense – we have combined modern day football tailoring to end up with a shirt which combines both performance and smartness. Stretch mesh is a key component to allow players to move freely and their skin to breath during matches. Every minor detail within the shirt has a reason for being – nothing is simply ‘there’.

Blanch added: “City fans will be pleased to know there is more black than red within the shirt.”

And I’m sure there will be plenty of that iconic sky blue on the home shirt…

Hit up the award winning Umbro blog for more and a 360 degree view of the shirt.

The long sleeved version is going to have black arms so that'll be an interesting one!

Out of interest, how many times did we use our away kit this season?
