The MUEN said they gave a speech to 20,000 outside OT. Absolutely no chance was it more than 2,000 & that's stretching it. For anyone who's been to OT but didn't see the parade on TV, imagine 20,000 people outside the front/ shop area at OT & how much space that would take up ? That's half of the crowd at our Eastlands party, crammed in front of the shop & on the pavement in that little area in front of the the car park!! 20,000 !!! That many would fill it ten times over & there were actually gaps round the sides!! The crowd there would easily have fit in the bottom tier away area at Eastlands. The pictures I've seen, there weren't 20,000 on the whole parade, never mind in that spot.

Sad, pathetic, lies but as you say, it will become fact when Pravda get started on it.

The thing is they can't keep the lid on this..too many photos out there and the more they harp on about 150,000 fans the funnier it gets

The scousers on RAWK are having a field day

And there is already a legendary 100+ page thread on bluemoon

The truth is out there..and it's hilarious

OK THIS IS WHY I LOVE THE MIRROR SOMETIMES! 25 FUCLING THOUSAND! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

but WobblyGobs comments make! He hadn't expected so many

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Se ... 43001.html

Manchester United paraded their Premier League trophy through rain-soaked Manchester today - and were stung by claims of a low turnout.

Appalling weather conditions and the fall-out from Saturday's Champions League defeat by Barcelona meant many supporters stayed away.

The crowds were nothing like the estimated 1million who welcomed treble winners United home to Manchester in 1999 - and looked to have been beaten by the 50,000-plus who packed the streets to hail Manchester City's FA Cup parade a week earlier.

Although police had staffed up for a 150,000-strong crowd, some attendees put the numbers at around 25,000, with most in the Old Trafford area. Others claimed 40,000 had showed up, despite the adverse weather.

But captain Rio Ferdinand was delighted by the attendance, saying: "It's crazy. We didn't expect so many people to turn out.

"The last couple of days have been disappointing for us and it could have been a bad summer.

"But this has picked us up. If someone had told us at the start of the season we would win the Premier League again, we would have taken that."

Has anyone seen that banner at the bottom of Deansgate, opposite the Cathedral? I don't know who's responsible but it's extremely pitiful. Something about 19 titles and it reads 'Manchester is Red'. Very, very poor quality stuff and completely wrong it seems.
Has the world gone mad, ..............or is it me?

I don't think there were as many as 25,000 there, in fact I don't think it was even close. If Sky are pushing the myth of 150,000 being there, in spite of seeing the streets for themselves & being able to compare it to our turnout, then it proves absolutely that they are actively working to promote Utd.

i was actually amazed at the pathetic turn out by yerniteds fans yesterday - even allowing for the humiliation of saturday and the fact it was pissing down (does nobody own a "fred the red" brolly ) it was absolutely bobbins - when it first appeared on sky news yesterday it looked like a big crowd on deansgate as they showed the bus leaving the cathedral , however as the camera panned out it was obvious the same few hundred were following the bus all along the route as the streets were practically empty in front and behind the bus . what is staggering as that most rags are in a state of denial re yesterdays debacle and the fact sky have published an "estimate" of 150,000 only adds fuel to this fire . manchester is red ny arse !

The way that Wedder's just throws it out to Custis is pure class. Custis couldn't help but hold in the laugh knowing he'd be struck off with any real negative quote.
