This way it's just like Christmas, not knowing what you're getting until you open the shiney wrapping!
Lets' hope we don't get the same old socks!

Manchester City look set to pull out of the race for Udinese star Alexis Sanchez and focus their attentions to three of Napoli’s front line strike force.
Manchester City coach Attilio Lombardo claims they are interested in Sanchez but that the player has suggested he would prefer to remain in Italy for the time being.
“It’s true we did track Sanchez, but I think this player is more suited to an Italian club right now,”
By Italian club Lombardo may mean that of Juventus, Roma or even AC Milan but the City coach does admit big interest in three of Napoli’s stars, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Edinson Cavani and Marek Hamsik have been linked with numerous clubs over the last 12 months and he is hopeful of landing at least one of them.
“I hope there can be some negotiations between Napoli and Manchester City, especially as I’d see one of their three forwards would really suit City, the trio of Edinson Cavani, Marek Hamsik and Ezequiel Lavezzi would bring success to any club.”
Lombardi added.
“Napoli have very strong players, but I doubt they’d release Hamsik and Cavani at the same time. Manchester City are tracking many players because this club wants to do very well, to win games and to become the most important side in Europe. Napoli have good players, so that is why we are looking at them.”

it goes back to last summer when Ancellotti said Mancini was after Dzeko, Kolarov and Pastore, he was right about the first two. Since then we've reportedly had £30m turned down and Chelsea have just backed out of the bidding at £44m allegedly. The Barca thing with Sanchez doesn't make sense - where would he play with Messi, Villa, Pedro, Afellay & Bojan all very similar? So that just leaves us and the dark side. I'm glad you like Vertonghen and I hope Javi Martinez is in the frame too - 6' 3", young, classy, 2 footed and quick. Spanish too, that'll please Carlos, David & Zab.Niall Quinns Discopants wrote:Pastore? That kid from Palermo? What makes you say that? Vertonghen makes almost TOO much sense. I'd be surprised if we weren't looking at him VERY closely. Mancini loves versatility as well.
I think whole Sanchez thing is just a story really. Doesn't make much sense to me. Kind of like "Mancini is Italian so we just link City to every Italian player who has done well in recent years". Problem with that is though that while Mancini has very strong say regarding transfers, it's actually Marwood's job to run scouting and make the deals.

Quote from Jen Chang, very solid well informed reporter from the states.
Sanchez is off gents.
