Jo has left Manchester City for Brazilian club Internacional.

The forward was Mark Hughes’ first signing for Manchester City, joining from CSKA Moscow in July 2008.

The 24-year-old made a total of 41 appearances, scoring six goals but at times he struggled for form and was loaned out to Everton midway through the 2008-09 season. He then returned to Goodison Park for part of the following season, which also included a loan spell at Turkish giants Galatasaray.

In his final season for the club, he spent a large amount of time on the bench, playing the occasional game under Roberto Mancini and scoring three goals in the Carling Cup and Europa League.

Glad he's gone, not up to standard but make no mistake we lost a club icon today.

Farewell Jo, you will be remember fondly, along with negouai, berti, pigeinho and the rest of our comedy heroes!

Pigeinho was awesome that game against Bolton though. Didn't cost us a penny and nearly got his pea head on to a cross which surely would have gone in! Gave 110 % so can't fault him!

off wikipedia:

Sport Club Internacional
On 20th July 2011, following a disappointing spell at Manchester City, Jo decided to return to Brazil and join Sport Club Internacional to try to revive his career. Many Manchester City to this day do not know who Jo is. Manchester City admitted they should have gave the 18mil they spent on Jo to a childrens charity.

Bad enough we knew Carlos was going but this was a complete shock, not sure how the squad will cope without him.

How many times have I said that in the end of the day he was Hughes signing only for people to argue that he was Sven's. I'm glad that OFFICIAL sources confirmed that in the end. No need for apologies for all the pointless insults though. You know who you are.

Jo was complete my(/i)s(t)ery to me. I sweare I saw him fair few times playing in Russia (they were showing Russian league on telly for few seasons back then here) and he was genuinely good. I have no idea why it went so spectacularily wrong in the end. But it did. And he was utter fucking shite for us.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I thought Frank bought him, negotiating from the January onward? However your information does back up the theory that he was switched somewhere along the line, and we got the imposter!!

Unimaginable, ridiculous bollox. In one fell swoop you have bettered a year's output from Chinners!
