It appears he has messed up with the Cesc/Samir nonsense by letting it go too late and not sorting replacements out ( so far anyway). If he recovers from where they are now to get 4th place or better it will be a fantastic achievement.

I disagree completely, this sleezeball liar of a manager should resign. He has no pride and will willingly lie on camera to save his team's arse and his own.

Too often the media have given him slack. He should walk ( preferably after we tonk them too :-) )

I'm sure I heard him say he is looking forward to having Ade, Henry and Bergkamp available for the next game; he was still worried about the Pires situation though.

Or was I reading his mind?

The more I look at it the more it appears that he's been taking the flak for the board. There's no way he wanted to sell Nasri or Fabregas. He's not getting the support and he's stuck trying to continuously work miracles.

I think they're just telling people that the money is available but that he doesn't want to spend it. They're not paying the wages to give them much chance to compete for players.

They'll go through a tough phase but they'll bounce back.

If he'd have bought some decent experienced players over the last couple of years he might not have had half his players wanting to jump ship to actually have a chance of winning something. He has put himself in a similar position as bacon face has at OT, he has full control of most things at the club and just hasn't delivered.

His youth policy isn't exactly amazing either, massive scouting network, buy loads of the most promising kids for low £m fees, quietly get rid of the ones that don't work out, claim to be a genius with the ones that do. With the more aggressive foreign youth recruiting policies from City, Utd and Chelsea now the returns will continue to diminish there too.

things wouldn't be this harsh. I've heard people saying that they are turning to Leeds Untd, but imho they are a little off. I think maybe there is a problem between Arsene and the board, maybe they want him out, but don't have the balls to tell him up front. Imagine if before the game with Newcastle they would had sacked him, imagine the press reaction, the fan reaction? But now, after they sold half the squad and according to press sources, Wenger was furious with that, after Arse lost with Scousers and today with Scum, if they sack him, half of the supporters will agree on that.
There are a lot of things we don't know, but one thing is sure, the are a lot of awkward things that are happening in that club.

Add to that Gibbs, Song, Abu Diaby and Wilshere and even Frimpong who impressed against Liverpool. With such a depleted squad and after the departure of Fabregas and Nasri, they were bound to loose against the Rags but no one expected this thrashing which actually flatters the rags. Its was not that they were so good, it was Arsenal who who were so bad today (and ended up with 10 men for the 3rd match running !!). Still they scored 2 and missed a penalty. Tells you something about the Rags defence and goalie.

I'd been thinking something similar myself - he's bought cheap and sold at a profit for them numerous times in the past, and he is helping them pay off their mortgage ahead of schedule because of it. They are basically treading water until they clear their debt then they will be set for life (as long as they keep their support)

They need looked after not exposed to a hiding like this.

Also, and it pisses me off to say this, rags are doing it with their kids. Meaning Wenger isn't really doing that well with his youth program either.

Bollocks.

18M quid goalie, 30M quid plus centre forward, 15M quid right back, 20-odd M quid diving winger (x2), 10M quid dog-eating midfielder... you get the picture.

Oh, I agree with you but those are all still kids. Walcott, Ramsey, Chamblerlain and all those dozens of french and west African kids didn't come for free either.

Look, I'm not praising rags here. All I'm saying is that Wenger's youth developement isn't really working either.

The 10M quid dog-eater is thirty-odd. piggs is four thousand six hundred and twenty-seven. The 30M plus centre forward is twenty-six. A 20M quid left back similar. These are not kids; they are experienced international footballers in key positions.

The problem Wenger has is not the quality of his kids or his methods of producing young players for the first team; it is the lack of experienced professionals to play alongside them. That is all. If they buy four or five seasoned professionals to chivvy the kids along, they can still be a force this season.

I think he should be looking at personality rather than technical ability at this point. All he needs is a couple of Andy Morrison types. Someone similar to the Ajax number three (can't remember his name offhand and certainly can't spell it) would be a good signing.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.
