He is not quality in the air..if he was then noone would get a lookin would they!! hes between average and good in the air but "quality" in the air...Bolloks you chinless blind cunt.

The only problem is; if Lescott isn't good enough in the air, then neither is Vincent Kompany as Lescott is way way better than him. So we actually need two centre backs BUT... he's also miles better in the air than Savic or Kolo Toure, so we need 4.

RIGHT...That does it......I will revisit this thread when the Alien headed one fucks up against Wigan.

That's fine, & while you're at it, add all the mistakes made by everyone else & stick them in.

Have a look at Yaya Toure's contribution to the lat two headed goals btw. He was clearly tasked with stopping Davies getting a run at our CB's & didn't bother, then v Spurs he just gave up & let Kaboul score. He may be a big lad but clearly, he needs to be counted as a shortarse when defending our box & the jobs given to someone else. Treat anything he does in there as a bonus rather than relying on him.

Lescott has an average start to the season (easy to forget we're FOUR games in) and all of a sudden he's a weak link.

He's not. We'll be fine. Don't worry.

I just get the impression Lescott is a slow starter. Takes a few weeks to get up a head of steam. He'll come good.

But YAYAs main job is further upfield where he excells whereas Alien heads is at the back....guess which one excells and which one doesnt? shit Ive just given the answer away. !

Lescott won't get much better than he is now. He's a defender & he's doing more defending than most of our other defenders. Just because he doesn't have a cigarette holder in his mouth & do it with a casual air of indifference doesn't mean he's not doing it. I didn't see Vinny battering Kevin davies or Crouch, did you ? If not why not ? He's a centre half too. Why are these blokes just Lescott's job ?

Klingon is way uglier than young Frankenstein.

I will turn the tv over to Star Treck on oldies tonight to reconfirm.

You need 'Next Generation' onwards for the Lescottesque style Klingon. The old Star Trek Klingons in Kirk's day didn't look like Lescott, they looked more like Spanish winos.

There are few things I am afraid on in this world, thank you Ted for adding an army of Spanish winos armed with bird of prey to the list.

New question.

If you had to improve our starting 11, who would you replace?

You are just a Kolo boo boy, FFS you cunts....he hasn't played a minute for us this season and you are already writing him off.

Unbelievable, you think 3 wins from 3 would quiet the moaners down.

It depends on if we're talking in the real world, & actually going out & signing a player to put in the team, or in fantasy land, where we can have anyone we want. In the real world If we could sign a CB who was truly world class, strong & reliable I'd replace Lescott first, no problem, but where do we get this player from ? People were saying last season that Jerome fucking Boateng would be playing in place of Lescott now!

In fantasy land, I'd replace De Jong or Yaya with Roy K***e & Barry with Colin Bell. Then we wouldn't need to mention Lescott ever again & would win everything.

Let's talk in the realms of reality. Is there anyway to improve this team?

Let's assume we have a little more than a day and a half left and we are looking to sign another player. Cook and Marwood are onboard, and there are only a handful of players in the world that can't be bought.

It's not true though is it ? Most of the best players aren't available now as the teams involved can't replace them if they sell. CB's in particular are difficult anyway because the best ones already play for the best teams, who don't need to sell them. Therefore, you have to sign unproven but promising players, who, when they sign, get mugged by Kevin Davies much easier than Lescott did. Catch 22. We have supposedly signed one in Savic. Which one out of him & Lescott will you have marking Kenwyne Jones ?

Bob doesn't seem to make CB a priority & would have De Rossi if he could get him. Can't see Marwood wearing that.

At least he won't get the blame if England's defence fucks up. It's nailed on he's going to get all kinds of shit playing for England as the press will want rags in there, so they'll magnify even the slightest mistake Lescott makes even if it's not just down to him; rather like people on here.

Note to Carl. If you're going to have a pop at Lescott, focus on his distribution and mindless clearances.

Lescott struggles in the air when he's moving backwards and the forward is attacking the ball. However, this is the case for all defenders.
Attack the argument of the person, not the person of the argument- except Carl.

Well thanks for sharing mate, i have a real problem watching Lescott. He's comfort on the ball and creativity is the worst
i have ever seen from a professional footballer and dont get me starting with he's passes. He reminds me of Carew big and tall, but dont have any special things he can do very well.. I also can not understand those who prefer him over Kolo, that is unbeliveble.
I really think Kompany deserve better, it's harsh but the truth.

City Spurs, Vincent Kompany completed 42 passes out of 47 Lescott completed 39 out of 47, yeah lets sack him FOR THREE FUCKING MISSED PASSES MORE THAN VINNY IN 90 MINS.
