If Sneijder's wages are a problem for The Rags and, perhaps, us, there is no way they are not a problem for Spurs. Plus, Spurs are not in the CL.

[i]The striker has been given permission by Wales to leave their training camp at Celtic Manor and travel to Merseyside on Wednesday afternoon to discuss a sensational switch after it appeared that Liverpool had dropped their interest in the 32-year-old.

Liverpool and City are locked in talks about the structure of the deal, which could be either a season-long loan or a free transfer.

Amid talk of interest in Bellamy from QPR on morning, Liverpool made their move after agreeing to sell David Ngog to Bolton Wanderers for £4 million, a deal that is expected to be completed today.

The Merseysiders made contact with City last week to ask about Bellamy but the move hit a stumbling block over the player's wage demands.

The forward made it clear he was unwilling to leave Etihad Stadium if he lost out financially and would not consider moving to a new club unless they match his current £90,000-a-week salary.

But Liverpool's fresh interest has provoked a breakthrough and the five-times European champions are closing in on a move for Bellamy, who has a year remaining on his City contract.

The former Liverpool player, who spent a season at Anfield under Rafa Benitez, has been frozen out by Roberto Mancini at City and has been training with the youth team.

Although Bellamy had not given up hope of forcing his way back into the City team and being named in the Mancini's 25-man Premier League squad, club insiders believe chances of a reconciliation are non-existent.

I think Hargreaves is enough for us today, very shrewd signing I think although Antti is probably tearing out hair with the thought of another rag on board.

Ade and Johnson already on loan, Swp all but done to Qpr.

Would be very very surprised if we did anything major, just can not see it.We have done some mighty fine business all the same.Just wish we had managed to have turned some of those loan deals into permanent moves.

Ehh he is not really a Rag, didn't play much for them..

This reminds me of a baseball player that if the story turns out 1/2 as good it is a steal. About 6 years ago the New York Yankees (read Scum) bought a pitcher named Carl Pavano who at the time was looking like a superstar. 4 years later they let him go for nothing, and now he is an upper level player again. If Hargraeves could only touch this, it would like dancing on Baconface's grave.

Well someone on twitter thinks they saw him in the airport, so it's practically a deal done!

There was a massive betting rush on him earlier, all seems to have calmed down now.

I think he might have been 5 minutes late for something and people panicked.

So he didnt go to Man City Or the Munchenhausens as his 250 k per week was too much.....................yet he is now signing for spuds who have a 85 k ceiling limit.

Alrighty then.
