I've heard some horror stories about the racism there in the 70s and 80s, but I was only born in '85 so I've not seen that. I've been to some much nastier places in English football.

Back in the day,,,,,
1981 FA Cup 6th round tie at Goodison Park and return at Maine Road, when Paul Power equalised in the dying seconds he not only took it to a replay, he brought the whole of Everton's hooligan element which was big right smack down on us, any fan that was there will tell you the walk run duck dive weave back to Lime St station was not for the faint hearted. But this is what I've been saying. I've had a season ticket since '93 and have been to Goodison to watch City and from my experience they're some of the friendliest fans around. Tranmere was the same, as was Sheffield Wednesday. Had cracking days out in all those places.

Been thumped twice and stabbed once away to Everton. On other occasions I've had no bother at all, I think it depended on the form of each team at the time. When they were riding high and we were average/shit, they were as friendly as could be.

I know one Everton fan tbh, he is mid 40's doing well for himself, get that loon at Goodison and he is all Scouse, in fact he is not English he is scouse his words, not wanting to argue, but name another club that comes to us and acts more moody. I agree one to one fine when following EVVEERRTTONNNN wankers sorry it is a fact.

I know a few everton fans at work and they are more jealous of us since the takeover than any other group of fans I've come across. They are absolutely raging at us at the moment. I think its because broad parrallels could be drawn between out two clubs before SM came in, and now they look at us and cry.
As far as them all being cunts, I'd have to disagree. Get enough people in the same place at the same time and a proportion of them will be cunts (I know some right bell end city fans). It just depends on which ones you encounter. And whether they've got a stanley knife.

Good question! Definitely not from the Premier League, and they sort of gradually rose through the divisions from about 1995-2005. Unless they were once relegated from Division Four to the Conference, I'd guess the answer is no.

92/93 season, relegated from League Two to the Conference.

There you have it then. What a 12-year turn around from the Conference to the Premier League (followed by at least 7 successive seasons in the top flight). If Wigan actually had any fans, Dave Whelan would surely be even more venerated than Jack Walker.

Whelan´s certainly more venereal than JW - allegedly!

As for them being upset when a player leaves - who can really blame them? Hardly morons, it happens everywhere.

I've a feeling they have been overacheiving for a few years now and when/ if Moyes leaves whilst they are in their current state they'll be serious contenders for the drop.

He's willing for people to invest, I think he wants to stay in the club though.

Anyone else notice their fans when they are on TV? At Goodison, they are like children, screaming whenever a player of theirs gets touched or going bananas at every 50/50 ref decision that does not go their way. And that one fucking song they sing. I really despise Everton and as someone else has already rightly said, their hatred of us has multiplied since we were taken over. As bitter as any fans, ever.

That's mad how they've not paid a fee for a player for two years. Why is Moyes still there?

The fact they've got no money has nothing to do with Moyes. I'm sure he'll move to a better job when the chance arises.

I don't even know what you mean by that sentence.

I'm certain he's had many opportunities to move over the last few years. I don't doubt for a minute that Villa enquired about him this summer.

He's a bit of a horrible bastard sometimes, but he does seem to be a man of integrity.

Are Villa a much better option? They might have a bit of cash but they still have to surrender players quite quickly. Also think Moyes could do a bit better.

I don't get why they have nothing to spend...the TV money alone is vast for being in the Premier League. Much smaller clubs seem to be able to buy a few players for 3, 4 or 5 million. I think Kenwright is doing very well out of it.

Probably a better option than Everton at present in my opinion. By staying on there, he runs the risk of being associated with their impending failure, which clearly won't have been his fault.

A good job for him would be something like Sunderland, should that become available, or Newcastle if he could convince the fat man to spend some of the Carroll money. No chance of that though.

Thinking about it, there are few upwardly mobile clubs in the Premier League at the minute. Wolves, West Brom, Stoke and QPR spring to mind, and Bolton at a pinch. He wouldn't want any of those jobs though. Liverpool are resurgent but that's a non-starter. Next Spurs or Arsenal boss? Perhaps. Can't see it though.

I agree with the original poster but it happens every time a top player leaves a club.

Even this week I have read how SWP evil greedy Dad forced him out of City the first time. Total nonsence. City were skint and Chelsea were willing to pay way over the odds for him. We pratically gift wrapped him and delivered him to Chelsea at that price.
