This is probably the biggest club match, in terms of stature that I think all of us City fans (except John68, who was at the 1904 FA Cup final) have withnessed in our lives, a match against several times winners Bayern Munich. Those 3 back to back wins in the early 70's were amongst my first European memories as a kid. Frightened? Like fuck. It's going to be big manwee's for me tomorrow.

If anyone should be frightened it should be Bayern, they could be facing at least 3/4 of the following ...

Silva, Nasri, Auguero, Dzeko Tevez and Ballotelli

Don't think they will be worrying too much about facing Balotelli tomorrow night................

BRING IT ON.

Exactly. The toughest games will be the Everton or Napoli games where they are content to defend all game (and can adequately) then hit you on the break (altough for Everton swap break with set piece).

Bayern like Arsenal, Spuds, THEM, Chelski will come at us and we will have to defend well but there will be plenty of space for our players to exploit. We will get chances where Bayern have over stretched themselves because they like to get their fullbacks forward. The key will be controling the space in between midfield and their strikers which we failed to control against Napoli, this is the space De Jong normally dominates.

I think we'll not only draw, but beat them.

Do we get four points for that?

riberey had his head in his hands when the group was announced, that has to tell you something. My head tells me we need to set up like we did against arse last season and grind out a draw but there are no expectations on us like there were with napoli so literally anything anything could happen. Edin must start but I see a role for balo off the bench

Hopefully when the ban is over...matchday 4? 5? He will be right up for this, certainly looked like he meant business on the weekend and this competition for places looks like it might have been the right starter fuel for him.

How much am I frightened of bayern?

Not. one. bit.

They are 11 mortal men just like every other team we face, we must approach this like a normal game, have fun and go for the win I say!

Fear is just a word.

Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes believes his team have not met a side as strong as Manchester City this season.

Bayern have not conceded a single goal in their last nine matches in all competitions after losing their opening game of the season 1-0 to Borussia Monchengladbach.
They come up against a Manchester City ouftit that have scored 24 goals in the same amount of games this season.

Roberto Mancini's side struggled to a 1-1 draw at home to Napoli in their UEFA Champions League opener a few weeks ago, while Bayern Munich won 2-0 away at Villarreal.
Despite being new to the competition, City have a wealth of players with experience in the tournament, including Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri and Sergio Aguerro.

And, after their near-perfect start to the Premier League season, Heynckes is under no illusions regarding the test that awaits his side at the Allianz Arena.

He said: "It is going to be a real challenge for us. Manchester City are currently on a par with Manchester United and that says enough really.

"They are a top European team. I am very impressed by them.

"No team has really put our defence under pressure yet, but I expect them to test us.

"It is important that we pick something up as that would take us a huge step forwards."
