Was mostly a piss take but the rest was quite balanced, I stated a fact and then asked a question. Nothing unbalanced in it.

There are alot of people around me, in the South Stand, who've never liked or sung along to the Manyoo nursery ryhme song! We always mocked them for singing nursery rhymes now that tune is sung more often by us. We are fortunate to have a large repertoire of songs, can we just stop singing one average rag tune?

That one in particular only really gets sung at derbies or coming upto derbies and is aimed at them so why stop singing it at them. The fact that it's their song and its funny to turn it around on them has been stated as an acceptable usage of the song the OP is crying about so why not this one?

Anyway the majority of football fans already hate us and will beleive what they like about us no matter how humble we act as fans so i don't see the point in making the effort to impress them.

i don't see it as arrogant, I see it as ironic humour taking the pee out of the RAG's chant. It's the same sort of thing as the 'Boring boring City' chant taking the pee out of the media.

I recon you'll find that the large majority of City fans hate those songs as well.

Mostly i despise the fact that most rags i know don`t go, don`t know their history and think its never their fault when they get beat, they never play shit and the media suck them off. Most successful companies/people have an air of arrogance about them, thats what makes them successful. Yes they are arrogant but because we have a perfectly good put down to fans that have a go at us for spending money and winning nothing we should not use it...bollox. Lets not cheer when we score cos we will look arrogant cos we know we can score..yeh right. Actually we could be the first PC fans, we could actually applaud away teams when they score so they feel comfortable at the Etihad.

I think personally its a good comeback at any opposition supprters when they have a dig at us. i don`t see the harm in it. It's a great comeback against 'them' & I'm all for it being sung then; shoving their arrogant shitty song up their arses but surely that's the point ? It's a horrible, arrogant, shit song & we get to use it against them, not use it against normal, decent clubs. When used against others, we're just basically copying their song, which everybody thinks makes them look a bunch of cunts. It makes us look the same as them. That's how everyone will see it including many City fans, so who exactly are we singing it for ? It doesn't make opposing fans think "oh how clever" it makes them think "what a bunch of wankers, just like Utd fans". Why do we want people to think our fans are a bunch of wankers ? I don't get it.

If we're happily singing their songs now, what will we be like if we actually win a few major trophies ?

It's ironic that people are wound up by away fans deliberately singing our 'where were you when you were shit' song in order to wind up City fans (they know quite well we were getting big crowds) & don't 'get it' but then use an obnoxious rag song to reply. It's like double stupidity. Away fans 1 City 0.
