- Johnson

- Lescott
- kolarov
- savic

all have been determined to be "not good enough" for City. Almost every time this has come back to not be true and the original poster is not only wrong, but has been slagging off a City player when they are needing support to get their best form back. Except for 3 own goals in 10 mins or a tevez like incident, give the player AT LEAST half a season (especially if they're not from UK) to adjust to the team, league, new country, and find their proper form. Because otherwise you look like a negative cunt now and a thick twat later.

None of those others have been declared 'not good enough for City' by me. I've criticised individual performances but always said all are good enough if they play to their ability. Edit: (bar Kolarov tbf still not a good enough defensive fullback imo but making up for it in attack).

Savic is currently 'Not good enough for City'. Whether he improves is a different matter but right now not only is he 'not good enough for City' he's 'fucking light years from being good enough for City & we won't win a fucking bean if he plays regularly in the Prem for City'. This is not knee jerk reaction to one game it's reaction to the obvious fact he's currently out of his depth.

I agree that he had a bad game yesterday, but every other time I've seen him play he's been pretty good. Maybe just a difference of opinion, but I think saying he is not good enough for City is a HUGE knee jerk reaction. Even with one of the best starts of all time, we find that we should criticize the 20 yr old youngster signed in the summer from across the world! Will there ever come a time where you will be able to say, "You know what we may not be perfect, but we're damn good enough so I'm going to get behind the WHOLE team"?

I'm not formulating it on one game but every game I've seen him play, as I've already said. He made the same mistakes v Wolves away as he did v QPR. He made the same mistakes v England as he did v Wolves & QPR. He made the same mistakes in the pre season friendly as he did v England, Wolves & QPR.

It may look like a useless caterpillar, but has a strong possibility of turning into a beautiful butterfly. And when it does, I hope you'll see the value of having faith in the judgement of our coaches and patience with the members of the team.

You can have as much patience as you like with him & I hope he becomes fantastic, just don't play him in the fucking team in the meantime.

Yeah, because giving Savic some experience has really hurt our form and caused us to drop points...

Sure he could have cost us the game, but he didn't. We win or lose as a team and Savic is a part of that team. I think he has great potential. Needs to work on his positioning and physicality - but is very good when people dribble at him, is normally good in the air, and is composed when in possession. Another year or two playing with Kompany & Lescott and training against Mario, Silva, Sergio, Nasri, Dzeko.... and he'll really blossom.

If we were struggling and failing to get results I could see your point. But as long as we keep winning - I don't see how giving young players experience hurts us or how criticizing those young players helps us.

What is it about him (what have you seen) that leads you to conclude that he has great potential?

Fair do's. I think he's been piss poor in the air and the last time I saw someone run at him they were needlessly body checked and Savic booked five mins in to the game.

Just a quick point, Savic had the highest pass completion of any City player.

And the poorest tackling of any defender.

99% of his passes were back and forth to Lescott without going anywhere..in fact I'm sure they both spent 5 mins back and forth at one point.

Lescott started it.

Against QPR, SWP and another player I forget had a run at Savic when he was isolated and Savic did very well to hold them up until team mates can cover behind. Many players his age would just keep backing up and give away a shot or dive in and give a free kick. Maybe a tint of Blue shades, but I think the card he got was a bit of a dive by the Birmingham player.

I do remember him being solid in the air when he has come on as a sub and when playing at home. He did have the goal @ blackburn (even if he was unmarked). But as is the nature of internet forums, if he is slightly off one game he is shit and needs to be sold. Then when he plays better he'll be a great find by Mancini, destined to be amongst the greats.

My main point is that it's waaaayyy too early for such extreme judgements on (I'll repeat again) a 20 yr old player bought in the summer from another country. A handful of appearances in the first 1/3 of a season is all we've seen. I think hes had a few good games and a few not so good. But has he PROVED that he isn't good enough? fuck no

Where in Gods name have you got any evidence for that !!?? Have you got any recordings of the games he's started, including for Montenegro or pre season for City ? Watch them. I have & he gets skinned almost at will if anyone runs at him 1v1. Unless he has several other players around to help him out or is running for a 50/50 ball over the top, he gets skinned. He obstructs, trips over, dives in he's fucking hopeless at it ! I wish you lot would actually deal with facts rather than letting your imagination run away with you.

Just try to remember the one time someone took him on, on his own, at QPR; he threw himself on the deck & stuck his leg out hopefully in the general direction of the ball, in our penalty area & had the bloke gone over, it was a pen & 2 points out of the window. At Wolves he could have been red carded in the 1st 15 mins for obstructing & diving in.

As for good in the air; at the other end of the pitch maybe. Kolarov & Zabba are winning a higher percentage of headers v the strikers than Savic. That's not a joke, it's a fact. At QPR Lescott won almost every header, Savic lost almost every header. Had Vinny been playing, there would have been almost no threat. It was because of Savic that QPR gave us a game. He fucked up our whole defence.

I take no pleasure in his incompetence but he's the worst fucking defender we've had in the team for years. People take the piss (rightly) out of Johnny Evans; he's making one shit mistake to each 5 made by Savic. He's currently miles better than Savic & he's shite. nIf he'd played for the rags v us, we would have scored 15 as he would have been more of a liability on the pitch than Evans was off it.

First game in the prem against a team that were really fired up.

Yes some very dodgy moments and at fault for their second goal but there is something about him , looks very comfortable on the ball.

To early to judge but just got a feeling he is going to be a top player.

Wow Ted tell us how you really feel. Trouble is can't really find a great argument against what you say as I havent studied him in games he has played beyond the last 2 for City. One was against no attack at all and then there was QPR where he wasn't good.

I would say though that it's a bit early to write him off. From what I have seen in training he doesnt stand out as a poor defender and generally holds his own fairly well.Of course in that he is never subjected to a barrage of high balls which he clearly struggled with yesterday.

Would Kolo have been better than him v QPR? Maybe but I fear the problem would have been the same. Time will tell but I have a feeling he might make the grade. I think the next game where one of VK or JL isnt selected will tell us a lot about who Mancini fancies most.

Savic, needs games he is a lot wiser this morning, than he was, the premier has plenty of defenders who look lost, Evra, Luiz have looked as bad, The whole Arsenak back 4 for 5 yrs have looked crap, give him some game time who knows. I agree work to do, Mancini, will give him a chance he has to take it.
