Best I've seen Obertan play. He looks as if he'll put a ball past Evra every time he's got the ball.

Newcastle look good until they're in the final third. They could nick this.

That was so typical: last few seconds of the half Taylor just completely fucking shat himself TWICE & tried to give them a goal. Only shit finishing by little Pee saved them. That would have been such a perfect example of what I was talking about in the other thread.

He's making Evra look like a knob isn't he? Cabaye, him and Krul playing well, Gutierez looking like a rabbit in the headlights every time he gets the ball in the RAG's half though.

He (and Taylor right at the death) is the only player to really be intimidated so far. The others have played comfortably & done what every side should do when they go there. They haven't panicked & given the ball back to the rags all the time, they've made them earn it (apart from Jonas).

Unfortunately, the rags have the players to score from nothing & Newcastle don't seem to have anyone who looks like finishing off their impressive approach play.

If they can actually find Ba in the box, I think toon can knick a goal. They're dominating the middle of the field, just need to watch the rag's pace on the wings

caught that comment about anyone who doesn't rate carrick doesn't understand the game ... I spit milk and cookies all over the missus and she was not best pleased! That's the kind of comment you will hear rags echoing randomnly for the rest of the season as well, very annoying.

Just watched the 1st half of the Rags v Toon game and I've got to say that United are looking very average. Saying that, Hernandez has had 2 good chances that he's skyed or scuffed. Said on 40 minutes that possession wise was 53-47 in favour of the Rags, which says a lot for Newcastle and to be fair, they've actually looked more like the home side holding a high line similar to what they did at ours. Ryan Taylor had a good chance when it fell to him at the back post but he fluffed the shot and it rolled harmlessly to de Gay. The only other decent chance came to Hernandez (I think) again who touched on a right-wing cross that was heading for the far corner only for Krull to get down and finger-tip it around the post. A very good save from a keeper that I rate.

I did say that Pardew will bend over for his puppet master, let's see if Alex slips him a note at half-time or if he sends his team out to do exactly what they did in the first?

Goddamn it, a double save from Krul isn't enough to keep it out

How fucking lucky!!! Never a free kick then it gets cleared, hits Peepee on the chest and rolls in the net. Luckiest player I've ever seen.

I feel sorry for Krul, he even managed to parry the deflected shot.
