Would never happen over here. People would just ignore it as another idiot. Or if you were in the south people would give a slight nod and carry on. But charging someone for hate speech for a random comment over the internet is more British than American.

i live in Florida, doucher. and they certainly would do something about it since it involves a popular figure in the sporting world...the fucktard in question might not literally get charged, but his face would be plastered all over CNN and TMZ and local authorities would absolutely consider legal options if for no other reason that to deal with the public outcry. Especially in the South. Where the fuck do you live?

Also, British would imply Scots, Welsh and Irish as well as the English. I don't think you can lump them all together when it comes to racist tendencies...clearly, none of them are as bad as the French or Spanish, but there is variance in my experiences.
