Why do teams lie down for the rags.

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

All the premier league managers have had a meeting and haven't told Bobby about it, and have all agreed in that meeting to not let us win the season and let the rags by rolling over for the dirty wankers

That's what's happened!!! Lol

Sorry, I don't buy this ... every team raises their game (or tries to) when they play the rags. We are starting to get that respect to. They are used to it, in time, we will be as well instead of whinging like a bunch of pussy's about it .... ;)

No mate, I disagree...

I could see it in Warnock's face, pre-match interview - excited because the Gods were visiting them. A royal visit. He was smirking and saying "well, we'll have a go today and see, but they're so incredibale blah blah..."
He gave up before the game, as did his team. They play like Manchester United have just visited their school and so do so many other teams in the league. We used to too as well to a certain degree, although the fans sheer passion and hatred meant the battle went onto the pitch, hence the odd 3-1, 4-1, 2-1, 5-1 here and there.

The difference with teams actually raising their games against us as opposed to the rags, is that we are supposed to stand for everything that is wrong with football. We are an abomination in quite a lot of people's eyes, be it through jealousy or otherwise. Just watch the forums before each game.

No, they raise their game against us to try and teach us a lesson for daring to be great... they bend over for the rags because they are in awe of a team that used to be great.

That.

It's not just us saying it. An Everton fan on Talkshite this morning specifically referred to their game v the rags. He said how he thought the Everton players failed to put in the required effort & 'jogged into position' when they should have been tearing into a demoralised rags team.

Strange, if we are all imagining it as some are suggesting, that someone who supports another team should refer to it after all this time & see it exactly the same way.

Add Wolves to that list. McCarthy sent them out to kick us at home, yet they didn't get a tackle in at OT.

Basel could not be got to. Their owner ( a female) is filthy rich.

It would be interesting to see if the Austrian player that managed to hit the bar when defending for Basel is still there after the transfer window( what was he doing ? ). Somehow he might be on his way.

When i read in today's newspapers that Fergie ist talking about being top at christmas and its importance for the title push, i wonder what he expects Pulis to do with his players on wednesday...

Warnock played Bothroyd today instead of Taarrarrabt, which goes to show how managers can play the cards. I just wonder if he played the 'City fucked you' card to Shaun and Joey?

Bothroyd has got to be one of the worst centre Premier League forwards I have ever had the misfortune of watching. He was abysmal against the rags - no pace, can't pass, can't head, can't hold the ball up, can't shoot on target and worst of all showed absolutely no commitment. He makes Heskey look world class in comparison

EDIT. How the fuck he managed to score against us I have no idea

I have read this thread with much interest. I rarely watch United games but did see the match against QPR. QPR were simply not interested. Barton played like he had smoked a ton of weed is an example of such. Warnocks sycophancy was buttock clenchingly embarassing and it was plainly obvious he chucked the match. I have never forgiven his tirade against Danny Tiatto for having the temerity to stand up to his awful Sheffield United bunch of cloggers and thugs. Joe Royle sussed him out big style and fought fire with fire. However on this occasion, you could almost see Warnock uncorking the red wine for Ferguson.

These issues are why Ferguson will never be truly respected like Busby, Mercer, Paisley, Stein etc. Roy Keane has him sussed it seems.

To be fair, there are not many teams coming to city and having a real go. We are building a reputation at home that teams are coming for a spanking and we are seeing some outfits beaten before they kick a ball.
I've also noticed that we are starting to get a few decisions from the referees that I'm sure we didn't used to.

Earlier in the season my mrs asked what has happened with my paranoia as I hadnt come home sulking and moaning about ridiculous decisions, since the 6-1 she said its creeping back in. I hadnt noticed until the Chelsea game.

Wolves decided to change 10 players last season as they wanted to protect their best players for the next game. Now that is pure gamesmanship

A newspaper needs to name and shame the managers with the worst record against him. Force them into facing their taggart fears.
