The home kit before the first Kappa one.
Plus the other two kits I mentioned previously.
apart from the reebok home shirt I previously mentioned, the others were all navy blue trim or shields. We need to firmly established our identity around the world - City wear sky blue shirt with white trim
unfortunately my old kits are packed away in the attic somewhere

I am quite happy to have black on a City shirt and if some way was found to stylistically intergrate the Maltese coss, I would be happy with that too.
I am very unhappy that the club commemorates our origins as 1894....Our heritage is a proud one and should not be denied.
BTW, City wore black and red quite proudly as an away shirt a number of times.

john68 wrote:Unlike you Mate, I have great difficulty accepting the date accepted by the club as the year of our inception as some on here will be able to confirm
In fact, I think the club's acceptance of that date is an insult to those who dreamed of a football club, not only realised that dream but took it from a rat infested slum into the Football League, in a few short years.
Whilst I acknowledge the role played in saving our club in 1894 by the likes of Joshua Parlby, we would not now have a club but for those who preceeded him.

May I now reverse the question? Why are you so hung up on the colour and so hung up on denying the colour black from the kit and our formation from our history?
Just asking

Yes, yes, yes, yes I know Gorton St. Marks wore black but WE ARE NOT Gorton St. Marks! We owe them our origins but we became City and adopted our colours.
So I say we shouldn't suddenly add a colour to our shirts that doesn't belong there - it may as well be pink, red or green!
There you go - in a nutshell I am against Black trim because it isn't part of Manchester City's colours... I don't even like navy blue trim on our shirts!

Don't get it then, get it when it goes back to being something that pleases you. What about the people who do like the black trim? Why can't things change?
