Ned's soccer am moment made me like him more, he confirmed he was maturing in a daft way he had humour and from looking very reserved, happy to be a player, he spoke freely, just like may others have,If Mancini got upset with that he must have a very short memory he would lambast anyone including club presidents fellow players during his playing days. Even wanting to fight if he was provoked by comments about him. Neds goal at Chelsea for Sunderland was worth a 4 yr extension alone, stupid deal for us unless he has a player lined up when we have far worse players than him. Lescot or Vinny gets injured or suspended we fall back on a player who is running on empty, sell Ned in 6 months whats the rush.

Relationship with Mancini was already poor or he wouldn't have said it! Mancini did forgive him, he played him after he returned from loan. But I reiterate, if you get the Chief Exec of a company the sack or force him to resign then, unless you are the Chairman of the company, you HAVE TO LEAVE. Any other company he would have had to leave that day. As it is football and his contract has value then he has to leave as soon as a buyer can be found for that contract. Which was now.

seems such a shame that an area we need to strengthen and we've allowed a talented young homegrown out the door for pittance
and I know savic is young, a slow burner, one for the future by I don't remember ned making the sort of cockups he does when he was about the same age

shame

But he's not a top class footballer, which is what we are looking for. Better than Savic? Perhaps.
But look back at his spell at Sunderland ... he hardly set the Prem alight, like Joe did at Brum or like Micah would have done by pretty much any club.

I had him in my FL team last season when he was at Sunderland, and I seem to remember that he was doing very well points wise (in top 5 if memory serves) until he was injured and was out for a few weeks. Injuries has been his biggest problem and then not given a decent run after coming back.
Is there anyone on this forum who would not have preferred him playing against Scouse instead of Savic ?

No it's not but it's a good indicator. Clean sheets, bonuses for good performance etc.. No doubt he got a lot of points for the goal he scored against Chelski !
BTW check FL top defenders as it stands now. Vinnie is no 4 with 88 points and he hasn't played last 2 matches. Tells you something.

You would think someone might have been prepared to offer more but they didn't. Guessing his injury record may be the cause of that?

Best of luck to Nedum, he needs to play regular first team football if he's going to reach his potential.

In terms of ability, i'd rate him slightly behind Lescott in our squad. He certainly never dropped as many clangers as Kolo regulally does through his poor concentration, and Savic is not up to it sadly, that was obvious at QPR. Mind you in defence of Savic, it must be hard to play with Lescott when your trying to learn on the job as he's no organiser, he has enough trouble looking after himself.

Anyway, Nedum could have been a reliable backup for the team as a center half had he not been used primarily at right back which exposed his inability on the ball for that position. The man's a center back and is the best one QPR has now. Will be interesting to see if Hughes hangs him out to dry at full back.
