I used to work with a lad who always used to apply for vacant managerial positions at top football clubs, as they do tend to reply. I remember he got a really good, considered response from Everton (ok not always op football clubs), which ended in regretful tones telling him they'd already given the job to Walter Smith when they got his letter in! Might make for a cracking thread.

But then I started cacking it, thinking one of us might actually get it.

Gary James wrote a book about that, it was called Atkinson for England and it was piss funny

IMO Bernie was right to take Terry out of the picture. No if's or but's or press going on and on about it, just take him out. Don't have a "racist" captaining our countries team.

Perhaps it could have been presented as Fabio's decision but it still wouldnt have been in the background.

I for one dont give a shit about Capello, he wasn't that good. England need someone to make us play as a TEAM, 'Arry might be able to do that.

The bloke who will be shitting it the most though is Claudio Ranieri at Inter, they've not won for 4 games...

Confirmed by the BBC.

Unfortunately, he's resigned over completely the wrong thing. This seems to confirm his lack of integrity as England manager. He could have gone because of Terry's rebellion at the 2010 World Cup, or because of the abysmal performances and results in the same competition. Instead it seems his resignation has been prompted by a technicality involving a scumbag - the previously named Terry.

He and Dalglish will have fun comparing notes, anyway.

Can't wait to see who's in charge for Euro 2012.

There are only 3 possible options remaining:

1. The Big Sam
2. Ian Holloway
2. Micah as a player/manager

Better avoid England's games even more than usual this summer, then. Fucking neanderthal.

New manager needed. Time for the staff at FA HQ to load up the trusty Barwickotron for the new management team selection

haha thats a good one.

If he gets the job, he'll get the inevitable 1-2 early wins from players playing harder to impress the new manager. The media will be wanking each other to pieces, just to have the truth be shown about 3-4 games in: 'arry is a subpar manager and England are a mediocre group of players.

If Arry gets it how long before the British media do a Venables on him and destroy him. Might get to the bottom of this tax thing then.

Twitchy getting the England job would be perfect for a few reasons.

Fuck spurs up.
Will show him for the average droopy faced twat he is.
The media will have to do the biggest u-turn since city won the league (they will be nice to us this summer, especially when we sign ronaldo) and destroy the myth they have built of 'arry because they can't help themselves.

Then pardew can have the England job as he is the one that deserves it anyway. 10x the manager that tax dodging cunt ever will be.

You've got to remember that he also made Beckham England's most-capped-ever player. This is surely as important to the nation as 1966.

Tbf, he has out Harryed Harry. This is world class stuff.

What an absolute fucking scam this bloke has perpetrated. He has acheived absolutely fuck all. If we'd seen some kind of inspiration in his selections it would be something but no. We haven't seen one fragment of improvement in the way England perform tactically either. His team selections have actually been bizarre in their lack of imagination at times. Compare his grasp of the English language to how Bob has improved in less time; clearly Capello hasn't even bothered. I thought he would bring something entirely new. Instead, he did exactly what Pearce would have done for a tenth of the wages. Totally uninspired.

His one obvious tactic since becoming England manager was 'stick everybody behind the ball' v Spain. We all know that Pearce is way ahead of him with that one.

Go back to the game v Germany & as Capello prepares to bring on EMILE HESKEY, we have nine players in the German area for a corner, with the only person to spot the danger; a half fit Gareth Barry, preparing to take on the whole might of Germany, like Corporal fucking Jones, as the ball will inevitably come out to their fitter, faster players.

What would Bob have been doing at that moment ? He would have been going fucking ape shit trying to get players into position. Capello? Never even noticed.

Probably has a big club job lined up, AC Milan or maybe a huge payer in Russia ? Now doesn't have to suffer the indignity of the Euros staining his reputation.

What a waste of fucking space.
