We didn't try to get you to join 'us'. As a matter of fact, you'll find that it was quite the opposite.
Also, to answer your initial question, I do hate baconface, but you'll find that the stats speak for themselves. He's one of the most succesful managers ever.

However, feel free to remain stuck in your ways. It is entirely up to you, however, if you don't step out of your comfort zone once in a while, you'll never know what you could miss. I'm not saying you should stop hating on Neville. All I am saying, as well as some others, is that he does a good job at being a pundit. He was cringing at the start, but as he got on more and more, I found him to be interesting to listen to. With a lot of pundits, I want to punch my tv for their idiocy like the fucking lunatic of a Merson, but Neville's unbiased and objective punditry made me like him, AS A PUNDIT!

Gary neville is a good pundit. Why we are being told to lie and say he isn't because he's a cunt and a rag is just a little bit silly.

And yes, ferguson is a great manager. Giggs is/was a great player.

I don't get this game...

Slightly off on a tangent, the pundits you get on Revista La Liga are fantastic, multilingual and insightful. Imagine Merson mastering even one language!

I also like the Football Weekly podcast from the Guardian with the excellent James Richardson.

Like Neville, Collymore has grown on me like a fungus. Pat Nevin is also far more intelligent than your average pundit.

There are some bloody good footballers who make bloody terrible pundits/reporters.

I have absolutely no time for Lineker or Shearer and very little for Hanson. There should be a law to stop ITV presenting football or Adrian Chiles even discussing it.

The panels thy have on Sky are mostly just there for comedy value but if you are going to do that, why not employ people who are genuinely funny. Thompson, Merson and Nicholas are all a waste of space and you can bung Redknapp Junior in there as well. Matt Le Tissier is ok and Jeff Stelling does all right considering what he has to work with.

HA HA just found these predictions from Charlie Nicholas -football expert my ARSE

Champions: Man Utd
Second: Chelsea
Third: Man City
Fourth: Arsenal
Fifth: Tottenham
Bottom three: QPR, Swansea, Wigan
Top scorer: Javier Hernandez
Best buy: David de Gea
Worst buy: Sergio Aguero isn't value for money
First manager to go: Neil Warnock

Gary Neville is a good pundit - he is fair and sticks to the facts. He refers to his experience when it is relevant and his analysis is based on what is clearly a good technical understanding of the game. He was at the top of my list of players I disliked but to hold that against him now when he is so obviously doing a fair job would be unfair.

He has clearly fallen out with "them at the swamp" over his plans for a supporters club so it will be interesting to see if this impacts his allegiance.

As far as predictions go I don't think those could be any worse

Some of them are poor but, to be fair, the ones I've highlighted were good or potentially good shouts. Pre-season predictions are fucking difficult.

With regard to Gary Neville, always remember that he is a blue and hates Munes. Remember him feeding the goat?

Not a great fan of Scott Minto - Mark Bolton was a better presenter and made a good team with Guillem Ballague. Most of the guests appear slightly irritated with Scott Minto.

James Richardson was the guy who used to do Football Italia on channel 4 wasn't he? That was a show I really enjoyed!

Ha! So that's what Davies is up to these days. I'll bet it's 2500 pages of contradictory dribble.

please explain your relationship with this person and also why you mock lantern-jawed heroes like City's own C B Fry ( and also the difference between contradictory dribble and contradictory drivel)

Andrew Davies. Former poster on this board. Former rag.

I am quite confident Johnny the author in question is different from our former lemming.

I am unaware who C B Fry is, but I'd be thrilled if you could enlighten me.

Contradictory drivel is words that start out saying one thing and finishing saying something contradictory. Contradictory dribble is words that don't make sense trying to say something but end up not making any sense at all. Yes, you read it right. Just like a Davies post.

Charles Burgess Fry, known as C. B. Fry (1872 –1956) was an English polymath; "Charles Fry was probably the most variously gifted Englishman of any age." Neville Cardus wrote that he was "a national gallery and a theatre and a forum".

Fry was an exceptional scholar and it was expected he would achieve a first-class degree in Classics and enter the Indian Civil Service. His achievements on the sporting field included representing England at both cricket and football, an FA Cup Final appearance for Southampton F.C. and equalling the then world record for long jump. He also reputedly turned down the throne of Albania. In later life, he suffered mental health problems, but in his 70s was still able to perform his party piece: jumping backwards onto a mantlepiece from a standing position.

The resemblance to Milner is just uncanny. Our James was described as a "first class" student at his school; he left with 11 GCSEs and an award for his performance in physical education. Milner also showed talent in cricket, sprinting and long-distance running. He played for the Yorkshire Schools cricket team, was the cross-country champion at his school for three consecutive years and was the district champion over 100 metres for two years in a row.

He has the record number of U21 caps for any Englishman and has played in a 9 different positions at senior level, including both wings, in central midfield and even as a right back.

The throne of Albania awaits
