Havent bought a newspaper for years.
I just dont understand why people do, especially the redtops. Much better information is available as you say via phone, however what it comes down to is that people who read the newspaper dont doit for news, they do it in the hope of finding a story - something which they can easily form an opinion about and talk to their mates at work as though they are truly enlightened.
I cant believe the number of people who over the last year for example tell me in the pub that x, y, z is a fact about city, eg the size of the sponsorship deal and quote it as a fact. When asked where they got that figure from, they say "the papers". When asked why another newspaper reports the same figure, they say its because they must know.....lit doesnt cross their mind that they copy each others stories to suit their agendas.
Funniest one was the recent story that mourinho had already signed for city, bloke next to us at the sunderland game mentioned it, wheruopn my mate, who knows nothing about anything jumped in saying that the story had been categorically denied by mourinho, and therefore it was an impossibility that the stpry could have a grain of truth. He even showed us the story on his phone as if to prove to us that what he had said, had actually happened.
I pointed out that lies are told all the time by public figures to maintain the stability of their current position - eg, someone is hardly likely to state they are leaving whilst in a title run in, regardless of the rights and wrongs of the story. He also had no idea about the situation in spain with marca and the other newspapers who act as official tools of subversion for barca and real.
He just couldnt grasp that showing us an article from a redtop website was not evidence of a fact, only evidence of a story. He just didnt get it, and i think thats very very sad and all too typical.
Unbelievable innit . Everybody has been completely brainwashed . I think the Internet is the way forward . For example I started coming on here during breaks etc. Don't agree with all but has led me onto other stuff. I particularly followed the conspiracy thread. Now I'm one of them who doesn't go for all that but after reading stuff on there iv followed stuff up and researched it. The things u find are amazing . Totally changed my outlook on things. I'm currently following leads on the media and the hatred to city. 6 months ago I'd say, just jealous of our money etc. But it seems to run far deeper . A lot of the high jobs in British media are occupied by Jewish . Or people who favour them. Obviously we are owed by Arabs . All this hatred is also because of politics . The more you dig, u see it isn't simply 11 vs 11 on a football pitch.
When rummernigger came out with his comments about city this season , I couldn't understand where the hate came from. Then I read up on the G12 .
Basically , everybody is frightened stiff of us. So they are all trying to take us down. As I said to the lad in work. U give them money, your paying to their cause. That makes u a traitor to city.
Once I have finished my research I'll be presenting it to city. I personally feel we should start our own local newspaper and radio station etc.
As for the going home early, for anyone who reads this and does. Grow a pair. I gotta stand a matter of meters away from them horrible cunts in a few weeks. Taking loads of shit. I'll stay till the bitter end. Win lose or draw. DONT BECOME LIKE THEM TWATS
There is truth is the part I've emboldened (is that even a word?) I picked out the quote of a real c*ntish Arsenal fan on a Gooners forum the other day when he suggested City were an 'awful club'. If I had the energy, I'd have really picked a bone with him, but instead I laughed off such a comment (which, of course, raised eyebrows amongst Gooners on the forum)
I really despise this almost manufactured hatred of all things City now. It's lazy, it's poorly thought out, and it simply smacks of jealousy. SSN talking to a few Cockney Mancs ahead of their game against RPQ- they were making out like City were suddenly the sworn enemy. This coming from a bunch of toss-pots who grew up with Chelsea and Arsenal fans, and most probably themselves supported Spurs back in '92.
