I just read Platini article on this - unbelievable if verbatim. I can't see a ref cancelling a game? He is deluded if he thinks that this action will sort out racism. He never will, but he should take a leaf out of what has been done in uk when it. O ex to dealing with racist behaviour in stadia.

I wonder what the sanctions are regarding awarding points? Its a minefield.
No time for a replay in a knockout comp like this.
What if the team winning is the one with the offending fans that cause the abandonement?
What happens if a game is abandoned on 45, 60, 75, 85 mins? Is there a sliding scale of punishment dependant in the time the ref halts the game?

Platini doesn't think anything through & doesn't really give a fuck anyway so long as he gets plenty of duck & cheese & wine before kick off, the fat sweaty cunt.

This should have been sorted years ago; players of all races should have just walked off together when one of them was abused. I can think of loads of opportunities when England and France for example have played on whilst under appalling racist abuse. I said at the time when people like SWP & Henry were getting it; they should just walk off and force these wankers like Blatter and Platini to deal with it. Other players in other teams would back them if UEFA/FIFA didn't & it would have come to a head.

The fact that we were fined more for being late for kick off than Porto were for racist abuse, just shows how much these people actually care. They need to be forced into action.

agree with you ted ... definitely needs to be sorted, but i think it will take some very brave characters to take the lead, don't know who at the euros would have the strength of character necessary.

platini's handling of this is a farce and a perfect setup to take the responsibility away from him and his cadre and wrongly place it on the shoulders of the refs. The ramifications of a ref calling a euro game off due to racism are staggering and such a flippant attitude from the administration will ensure that no ref steps up to do this no matter how necessary it may be.

Did well tonight largely feeding on scraps in spite of Italy's possession.

That offside geezer stopped him from tapping the winner into an empty net.

Yep, he really did.

These people have got such a fucking jumped up opinion of themselves, they don't even realise what they're saying.

Tbf to Lineker, he really did look genuinely annoyed more than once, at Hansen in particular.

Ted,
Those experts are all about soundbites mate. The quick line that makes them look clever and inciteful to the ignorant masses. Mario has a media built reputation and when you have nothing intelligent to say, it is easy to jump on the bandwagon and take the easy option.
You will get a similar quality of opinion in any pub, given by any number of pissheads after any game. Hanson, Shearer, Lineker, Lawro, K***e, are just football celeb faces and not a lot more.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

Watch him point to the corner in which he's going to put the ball after the little stutter he does before taking it (about the 45 sec mark). Class!
