Most not every mate. I don't have the money to be able to buy through a finance company.
It was a case of borrowing from friends/family then paying back later. Can't keep doing that.
Wears thin after a few times, understandably.

Fact is that since 2008 and just before the takeover, we've probably acquired another 15k match-going fans who've jumped back on when the team got good. Last home game before the takeover in Aug 2008, and indeed what was the first home game of the season, against West Ham, got a paltry (for us) 38k.

Roll it forward 4 years, and after an FA Cup, a title and multi-gazillions spent on the squad the demand has gone through the roof. The club have retained more than reasonable prices for Season Tickets, especially when compared to many many others in the Premier League and across the CL clubs, but prices will go up when demand is through the roof.

The team is good, the club have spent a packet on the squad and improving facilities around the ground. Increased ticket prices match to match were inevitable. I sit in the Family Stand and take 2 kids with me; last year, though it gutted me I paid the extra £50 for Platinum, but this season I simply couldnt afford that so went Gold which is what Ill stick to before the club prices me out - if Season Tickets go up like Matchday ticket prices, then I possibly have another 2 years left before I'll have to bow out too. I hope City dont start pricing many fans out of it, but I wont hold my breath.

There was a thread a while back about buying and sharing a season ticket. Might be an option for some. Keep their season ticket but sell their ticket to mates for a few games.

It sucks but it's a middle road and might not compare too badly to buying tickets a la carte.

Euro games should be easy enough to get to for some (not me) and a bit cheaper.

It may be a short term pain thing.

If the demand for season tickets gets upto, say 40 odd, 50 thousand, they can expand the ground big style & include gazillions of corporate places. Then a fair few of the new seats could also be lower priced, perhaps quite a lot. I may be naive, but I think they will inlude lower priced tickets when the ground is expanded, & imo it is 'when' & not 'if' & I recon it's not that far away. A couple of seasons maybe.

Just to add, these 'super luxury' boxes could be a trick up the sleeve. Each box having it's own identity, sponsored by Harrods or Gucci, whatever is a unique thing so nobody can put a price on it. I think this is why we are experimenting with this stuff. For the future.

How much does Abu Dhabi style millionaire pampering cost per hour outside football ?
Fucking absolute fortunes that's for sure. How can Platini say it's overpriced when it wouldn't be ?

If they could build enough of them, then just that plus extra seats would start to put us in the ballpark of the rags' matchday income.

The hotel projects etc can all come into this. There are lots of ways to do this shit, depending on how far they want to take the redevelopment. Whether thy go for a simple stadium job or a full on super stadium with boxes, suites, in the roof & all that shit.

No way on earth i'll pay 50 pounds to watch pampered footballers jog round a grass field, maybe for an fa cup semi final but for a game against a promoted team?
They must be stupid, us older supporters will be priced out whilst the glory munchers will be here in there droves.
Shocking and a terrible decision by the management side of city.

I'm a Manchester city fan have been since i kicked my first football at the ages of 5-6 years.
I went to Maine road with all my mates whenever i could and have been to a few mcfc away European games, not as many as i'd of liked to go homes games these last few seasons but have been a bit.
A glory hunter is someone who suddenly joins city as a football fan like now when we win the league and fa cup or start to challenge for honours.
Me on the other hand have only ever supported one team that is mcfc when we were shit and now when were the best.
A glory hunter is also someone who will jump ship to another winning club once the winning stops.
Just saying.

it was mostly tongue in cheek in the first place pal. :) didn't mean to offend you.
and yes the tickets for single games are very pricey these days but I blaim certain Platini for putting up the pressure to hike up the prices.

At least all the best fans are not being ripped off, its good to see the part timers, day trippers and band waggon boarders subsidising those of us with the decency to have been there every game throughout the bad times.

City offered best value for ££ per goal and ££ per win according to a study based on performances and ticket prices for last season.
