The thread is about terrible players. Jack is terrible and I'm sure anyone with eyes can see he Is not cut out for city. Easily a waste of money. And about my other 'posts' I don't see how being ill informed about the 3 5 2 is accurate. It seems one good use of it against spurs in this case seems to forgive all sins.

Thanks everyone for contributing!!

I am ruling on this now and the top 3 are as follows -

3rd place - Matias Vuoso £3.5m not a second played!!!

2nd place - Jo stupid money for him and has continued to show he's worth about £200k not £18m

1st place - Roque Santa Cruz - not his fault but sheer value for money this guy takes the biscuit!

Deffo Santa Cruz for me !

Just shows how useless a manager Mark Hughes is , that bloke must have wasted the most millions in owners money @ City and QPR in transfer history , infact it is possible he has single handedly wasted as many millions as a stockmarket crash . Didnt he buy that useless cunt JO for 15 million or something ? fantasy football manager gone wrong . thank fuck we got rid of him when we did ...... mind you the media love him ........ i wonder why ? .....

He didn't cost £17 million though did he. It was around £7 million.

And I think its a bit too early to sign him off just yet.

Has to be Nigel Clough. Wet fart of a player for us who pocketed fortunes. I hate his face.

It has to be Steve Daley. He was a record British signing at the time. Yes Santa Crutch was bad, but he did score and was a moderate (in comparison) fee. Jo was shite but it was later reported we never paid anything like the £18m quoted price tag. But we SMASHED the record to get Daley. In modern terms it would be like paying 70 million pounds for a player and getting far less back in return than Torres has given Chelsea.

Nobody else comes close.
Not Badbuy, not RSC, not Jo, not Vuoso, not Mills and certainly not Nigel Clough. They were all just shit.

Have to agree with this.
I'd add in Kevin Reeves at £1m in the 1970s

Oh that's unfair on Kevin Reeves. Admittedly overpriced but he did contribute in a positive way.

And Reeves was signed in the 80's (just).
39 in 158 games is not the worst ever record.

You clearly dont remember last season vs United, Porto, Sporting, QPR etc etc, many games in the 2nd half where we reverted to 3 at the back to press on and overwhelm opposition.

I wasnt even referring to 3-5-2 when I mentioned ill informed, but if the cap fits..............

If anyone wanted to be completely contentious and ridiculously argumentative, they could nominate Rodney Marsh - a signing that "lost" us the title in the 1971/72 season, when we had it almost sewn up and in our pockets.

He was signed for a massive fee (at that time) at the advanced age of 28 and, in spite of his individual brilliance, he was never a team player, he didn't inspire us to further glories and then jumped ship to scuttle off to the USA.

I can't actually believe I'm typing these comments as I hero-worshipped him for the flamboyant skill he possessed.......

no way ! marsh's signing did not lose us the title that year . Allison did . Insisting on playing an overweight and unfit Marsh...

Marsh came good for City on many occasions.

Funny, he seemed a top prospect at Everton and nobody said he was rubbish when the rags were after him. Had a bad time with injuries, which can happen to anyone. I reckon he's a better midfielder than Phil Jones - what do you think of the comparison?

Jones is a center-half, no matter where Slur Alice wants to play him, so he's definitely better in midfield than him.
