Not seen it but if it's a 'Top top finish', why is Joe Hart shocking?

PS. This was just a Stevie Starfish night, and it showed.

Because JH came out of his goal and headed clear but like the warrior he is the Z-man just bicycle kicked it in from 20 yards because he fucking wanted to.

Get him in the Prem.

20 yards, nearly double mate.

Nah, 20 yards.

He ran a mile out of his area to head clear, bottled the header then zlatan turned 180 and bicycled the ball on the volley into the goal without a bounce. That make sense?

Just seen it, Joe doesn't like it on the left.

The bicycle, well, that was just a great finish from that distance.

Scary thing is you kinda knew he'd do it as soon as joe fucked up. Only a few players in world football could pull that off.

Is Mario on that list?

Min ♥ till Zlatan växer varje dag!

Still, I do not think he would fancy a cold wet night at Stoke. Nor could he get hatricks against Bolton and Wigan at home the way world class players like Frank Lampard has.

Nah, 20 yards.

Being padantic, Joe came 5 yards out of his area, knocked the ball another 9 or 10 yards in the air and then take the angle into consideration. Easily a 45 yard bicycle kick.

Even though the 4th was a defensive blunder, nobody else could have dispatched that like he did.

It didn't even bounce until it had gone in. Unrepeatedly brilliant.

It's already the most overrated goal I've ever seen, scored by the most overrated player of all time.

I've seen far better goals than that in the last few years but people are making out like it's the greatest goal in the last 20 years.

Fuck Ibra.

Hart at fault for last two goals there, not impressive so thats 3 goals given away in 4 days.

Glad he saved that performance fo England mind you.

As for Zlatan, Im not a fan but the skill level for that 4th goal was off the scale, top top class.

Just read someone opine on twitter that Zlatan only turns up against shit teams, and he turned up tonight! Sums England up quite well.

Shawcross won 2 caps tonight, his first and last.

Fuck Ibra.

It was alright for a 50 yard overhead shinner. Pele didn't even score from 2 yards!

I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

What do you lot take from this game?

My conclusion is that there's a very positive vibe about the Swedish national team at the moment. We're not organized, we'll probably never be under this manager, but we'll play some great games at least. For a nation of our calibre I guess it's all that can be asked really. If only there was a carling cup for nations.

I think it was a big game for both teams. Yours because it was your stadium opening, ours because Hodgy wanted to play his kids, and Stevie Starfish.

Not sure about that, This current side is not good enough to go the last 16 of the World Cup. Take Zlatan out of the team and they are a very average side. Stick Zlatan in a host of sides like Ireland or Norway and they would be better than Sweden.

Spot on.

What do England take from that game? What England managers always take from them - decide to go back to the old tried, tested and failed regulars. Gerrard and Lampard in midfield, a right footed cent midf playing on the left, a 4-4-2 formation, scrape through qualification at which results in a spell of tabloid tub thumping only for the team to exite the World Cup when they face the first half decent team in the knock-out stages.

Cue a cry from Hodgson of a new era and things have to change, and then he announces the squad in Aug 2014 and the usual suspects appear again. Yawn.

tells me that the prem is an echo chamber for the press and english players alike. For starters, england don't have anyone that even approaches Ibra's quality, but if you listen to commentators every weekend, Welbeck probably runs him close and Rooney is miles ahead.

Ibra's comment about Gerrard was pure satire. What top team doesn't already have a player in Gerrard's position that is just flat out better?

world class player in any position? GK? maybe, Hart needs to get his swagger back though, there are others that have earned it over many years. LB? Maybe only because there is a lack of truly class left backs in the world right now, so Ashley MIGHT get a shout. Midfield? No ... striker? No. Defense? No.

England need to stop equating Premier League as best in the world meaning that England will be the best team in the world, just not true. Same story to baseball in the states. the MLB is the best league in the world, has the best talent from all over the world and the most money. Our national team can't beat tiny Caribbean nations for fucks sake. It's not as important in baseball though, we don't really do national games much ... much different story for England, obviously ... and the first step is to kill the delusion, because as the Prem gets better and better, I can see the English national team getting worse and worse.

My prediction is that England will start to progress as a team only when players start going abroad to play. It's too comfortable for them now, no one is forced to grow in an echo chamber.

Yeah. Sorry if I was unclear. I'm not saying we will win something but we are an entertaining side to see. Perhaps not for anyone else but at least for the Swedish supporters.

I mean, Zlatan was even better 3 years ago but then we had a poor manager and the team looked like it would combust at any moment. We were better organized but there was no passion, no team spirit. I fell out of love with the national team at that point and despite the appointment of Hamrén I have found it hard to get excited again. But... I've come to be more interested again. Not because we will win anything but because at least there's a feeling the players give a toss about winning the games. That's what I meant with the positive vibe bit.

For those old enough Gerrard this season - despite the Sky people drooling over his every move - has looked like Judy Garland on her last stage show in London. Or for the younger members, Whitney Houston.

Trying hard but nothing there anymore, washed up.

As for Ibrahimovic I stand up firmly as one who said we should sign him, we probably tried. There are those of course who said he wasn't good enough.
