Nasri VS Milner

Xabi Alonso would be a great signing. Good for another 3 years at the top and would compliment yaya and silva quite nicely.

Neither of them is capable of beating a man and putting in decent crosses consistantly. We need a natural wide man.

Bit unfair on Milner I would say as he puts some great crosses in compared to Nasri who threatens to cross, watches everyone run in for it and then cuts back so they are offside and the move slows/breaks down.

Maybe so Doug, he put in a few low crosses today, but what I was driving at was that he is rarely going to take on a player, beat him and get to the line to cross.
We did seem to have more width and pace today though and maybe that had something to do with Milner's presence. Nice run near the end from Jimmy.

He's (Milner) played a lot better out wide this season compared to previously, and we're able to keep possession or recapture the ball in the opponent's half a lot better with Milner in the team than Nasri.

I would say that Milner does bring us much needed width. He's a proper winger when he's allowed to and he's also getting better at the tippy tappy thing at the edge of the penalty a.

Not to forget that him tracking back allows zab or Richards to go forward and widen our play.

Plus those fantastic, pinpoint accurate diagonal crosses he insists on making.

He's a winner. Let's play him more often.
