I think I may retire again, fook me it was cold. I know it's soft as shite but I ended up putting leggings on in the 2nd half it was that cold. Still need a load of work as very rusty even against a team we smashed 17-0.

In a game you win 17-0, I imagine your biggest worry was hypothermia mate! Imho, you should take stock after another couple of games - course you're gonna be rusty initially. You're a long time retired and all that.

Hey Sis,
Instead of standing there whingeing and doing fucl all...why didn't you spend the time being proactive and knit yerself some socks, gloves and a scarf to keep warm?

Leggings? Pics or I won't believe that. I've just googled "camel toe" almost in some Tourettesian reaction to your post.

Need a goalkeeping coach Andie? I'm trialling a couple of clubs this week.

No idea mate, weather is playing havoc with the fixtures. No game this weekend.

lol!

It's pin striped tracky dacks and studs for the docs when I'm on the pitch Andie. It takes things to a whole new level. I'm saying "I'm here to train hard, but I'm looking damned fine while I'm doing it, even when I'm cracking skulls." Oh yeah, you know what I'm talking about. You all know what I'm talking about. I'm not sure I do, but you all know what I'm talking about.

At least there was some good news today. Sounds like the sis had a decent game.

A late rally from opponents Sheffield FC in the final 10 minutes of the game wasn't enough as City sealed their place in the 4th Round of the Women's FA Cup.

City started brightly, going ahead in just the 2nd minute when Krystle Johnston found herself with time and space on the edge of the Sheffield area, placing a superb right footed curling shot into Sheffield's top left hand corner with the first shot of the game.

Sheffield had their first chance through Captain Carla Ward with an early strike in the 5th minute, which Andrea Worrall gathered with ease.

City extended their advantage in the 9th minute when the ball fell to Abbie McManus 12 yards out, keeping her composure she took a touch to control then found Lindsay Savage in space to her right who drilled the ball past the Sheffield keeper into the bottom right hand corner.

The Blues lead was threatened in the 19th minute when neat work down the City right saw a cross drilled into the box, Middleton was alert to the danger clearing the ball to safety.

Opportunities for both teams were limited in the first half with City scoring from their two chances and Sheffield getting two of their four shots direct on Worrall's goal. City went in at half time two goals to the good and looking set for the 4th Round.

The opening 10 minutes of the second half saw a more resurgent Sheffield team as they pressed City looking for a way back into the game. The Blues could've and perhaps should have put the game beyond doubt in the 59th minute when Johnston threaded a neat pass through to Young. Clean through Young brought a fantastic save from the Sheffield keeper, diving to her right to palm it away, with the Sheffield defender putting their bodies on the line the second City shot was blocked.

But City weren't to be denied the third when a cross from Amanda Goodwin found Sarah Danby tightly marked in the box, she rolled the defender, stayed on her feet to round the onrushing keeper and finished into an empty net to all but seal the tie.

In the 78th minutes the Sheffield comeback started, with Michalska clean through Worrall stood tall to tip the ball over. From the resultant corner Sheffield piled forward with Worrall again making another point blank save, the rebound saw the ball fired toward a City defender and the referee pointed to the spot to give Sheffield a penalty for handball. Ward slotted the ball home to give them a foothold in the game that seemed all but beyond them. A switch in tactics saw Sheffield go to three at the back pushing forward for the second. It arrived two minutes later when Michalska broke through to fire home. A nervy last 7 minutes now followed with City nearly finding a fourth through substitute Saffron Jordan.

City were able to see the game out knowing they had been in a real cup tie and look forward to the 4th Round draw on Monday afternoon.

City Starting XI: Worrall, Middleton, Harding, Shepherd, McManus, Nightingale, Young, Johnston, Savage (c), Goodwin, Danby

Bench: Lee (Goodwin 76), Jordan (Johnston 82), Buffel, Bayley

I watched about 20 minutes of the second half before going into the ground. Half of that time was spent with Sheffield players writhing on the ground after some hefty tackles. No saves were needed from Andie during that time but I was very impressed with her kicking!

I was worried about my kicking as my right leg is goosed but we had a physio with us on Sunday who used some of that Kinesiology tape and it worked wonders. Its the first time I have played pain free in years, I was so happy. Its a shame that we dont have a physio with us all the time as he really helped.

Any news on Danielle Brown? Not that I am trying to cut short your comeback, Sister of Fu, but well, you know. Just hoping she is ok and that.

I think she has a slight tear on a ligament in her knee and that she has been told that she cant train for another 6 weeks. After that I am not so sure. It maybe season ending for her as she will need another few weeks to get back up to speed. Its gutting for her as she has come on leaps and bounds since I left and had become the keeper I always knew she could be.

are you that old that you could use a physio with you 24/7? In the toilets -- "here let me get that for you m'lady", in the bedroom "just take this and you'll be rock hard for 4 hours m'am", in the garden "let me tape you up so that you can walk around and smell the flowers one last time Madame Wozza"....

old age fucking blows. Once you were someone with a chance at something and pretty soon yr reduced to making the kids laugh with parcel shelf stories. It comes on fast i've heard, it comes on...fast.

Keep on truckin on the pitch dude...i'm sure this confidence is doing wonders for your sex life. You probably feel like a woman in her early 30s again.

cheers
