Showed on skysports news this morning, the groundsmen at moscow spray painting the pitch green, driving a tractor on the pitch and using a crop sprayer to spray the paint. It looks in shit state.

Yeah I saw the footage on cnn ... it looks awful, just a sandpit and they've spray painted patches of green on it. If it rains it'll turn into mud puddles and if it doesn't rain it's well just a green coloured sand pit.

I hope our players are focused on the game and opposition and not let the state of the pitch distract them or play negatively on their minds. Easier said than done, I know!

bobbly pitch and a draw about right. We might have had plenty of the game but lucky not to have conceded at least twice.Cole and Pozo looking quite ineffective so far.

City winning 0-1 good turn and cross for an easy unchallenged header and credit to those city fans who have gone to watch with their light blue Russian Hats on.

Some absolute quality stuff this half. Pleasure to watch. And against a very well organised, athletic team.

What is very noticable imo, is how quickly these lads hunt the ball down in the oppo half compared to the 1st team.

Much more Barca/Bayern.

And a right fuckup by the keeper puts them level.

we are murdering their left back....

however the whole performance reminds me of our first team performances at Villa and Cardiff!! Much the better team and totally bossing it but look susceptible to the counter attack

It's one of the things which will happen from time to time even when we perfect that way of playing I suppose.

We have seen it happen to both Barca & Bayern only two seasons ago.

I really like the way our system is coming along. EDS is a little bit behind but the other stuff is very exciting, & Vieira is starting to show managerial qualities imo.

Great to see Pozo back, even if well off the pace.

[quote="Beefymcfc You have a point there Herb, it's proper Costa there in Manchester ;-)[/quote]

I wasn't saying that Manchester doesn't suffer the weather Beefy (though fact is that it doesn't have anything like the weather extremes that Moscow has). It may be in Manchester but our pitch is excellently maintained, regardless of the rainshadow of the Pennines and my point was more that the CSKA pitch is to a deplorable standard as it is and may well be completely unplayable if it rains on it in it's present state. Perhaps not the ideal conditions for the lighter faster players?
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

as the old saying goes.... both teams have to play on the same pitch so no excuses.
