If it was Barry or De Jong they would have anticipated the danger and would have been back there defending. Where as in Garcia he was ball watching for me, he wasn't close to any Chelsea player to make it sound any better.

He was on the edge of the six yard box when Torres squared the ball for Schurrle, exactly where he should be.

Why do people lose all rationale when it comes to scapegoating?

I thought he played well & I'm glad to see anybody in that position after having nobody doing that job all season.

But in the end, imagine Roy K**ne doing that job instead, quicker, tougher, harder in the tackle & more creative.

I've been saying for years that we need to find that kind of player, not a Barry or a Garcia or a Nige, or Yaya or Fernandinho.

Find a proper star & who is also an athlete for that job, & the midfield will be absolutely fantastic.

I always considered De Rossi to be one of the few midfield players who tick that box and I reckon that's why we went for him several times. No spring chicken anymore, but still would do a cracking job for the next two or three years IMO.

I work with a guy who is a Roma fan, of course he is over the Roma moon at the moment. All games won so far, a record in Italy. He says de Rossi has been sensational this season so far.

He also said when i mentioned Citys interest last season, that de Rossi will never leave Rome.

Agreed on all of that, I was happy to see some tactical adjustment from Pelle and I think it was the right one. I this Garcia is the right one to fill that role, though he acquitted himself well in this game.

Is it the first time he's really been played in that position as part of a 3 man midfield? My feeling has been that when he was picked it's either been ass part of a 2 man mid (last season) or CB (this season). If he can play like that, I think he'll do a good job against mid-table and below teams, but can't be relied on against top tier oppo. I'd really like to see rodwell in that position, and milner could probably do a job as well ... if given a shot, he has the qualities to be excellent there. the more I think about it, the more i'd like to see if happen.

I no longer believe he is an option either because of price and age alone, nevermind loyalty.

But I'd have him like a light on ability.

I was on here last year bemoaning the loss of De Jong and now Gareth Barry.

You can't ask your full backs to constantly get involved in the play if you stack your midfield with players who in Garcia's case aren't mobile enough and can't tackle and in Fernandinhos case is too light weight and defending isn't his first thought.

When Yaya and Fernandinho play together Fernandinho has too much work to do defensively and with half an hour to go has blown his load.

Garcia is a waste of time at the back or midfield. The games just far too quick for him physically and mentally.

We need a strong defensive midfielder and I think that a bid for Khedira at Real is a possibility.

Rodwell is potentially excellent imo, but every time he gets fit enough to start making a difference, he gets injured.

Milner just gets fucked about all the time by City & England & never really gets chance to settle into a job.

Tbf to Garcia, he was a top player when we signed him. 30 years ago, Liverpool would sign someone like that, stick them in the reserves for a year then start bringing them through. These days everyone has to adapt quickly.

I feel a bit sorry for Garcia in that respect.

I can't believe he's regarded higher in the pecking order by our coaching staff and we still have Rodwell or even Milner. But the main reason would be because he's Spanish.

I still havent gotten over sundays result yet ........ proper pissed off is an understatement . We were so comfortable and our bench was frighteningly strong. Milner deserves a run in the team and Negredo should have started for me ...... Pellegrini needs to get his act together pretty fast with all the astounding talent at his disposal and Garcia deffo doesnt come under astounding talent by a long fucking way even if he speaks Spanish ffs lol.
