I don't mind AVB, he seems like he has a decent football philosophy and a set system. The problem that a lot of coaches encounter is being to stubborn to tweak based on the pieces.

That and he really didn't do enough to sort their attack in the off season in my opinion.

I think over the summer the general consensus was that they had invested the money well but for some reason its all went pear shaped and the manager has to be held accountable. The defence has been especially bad when you consider how well they operated last season.Last season they conceded 46 goals in all and after only 16 games they have leaked 33 already this season.Soldado so far has been very poor in the league I don't think anyone would have predicted that.I thought Avb did reasonably well last season to the extent that I felt Chelsea just might have acted too quick getting rid. He's still a very young manager so maybe he will learn from this but his stock has dropped again big time the way things have panned out at Spurs.

Has it really gone pear shaped for them this season? I know they've had a few heavy defeats, but they're still quite close to the top 4, still in the League Cup and they qualified for the knockout stages of the Europa League quite comfortably.

After the loss of Bale, and the introduction of so many new players into the squad, how much better could they really expected to have done? They may have spent over 100m but they did it at the expense of their star player - their only truly top class player. I guess they didn't expect Arsenal or Liverpool to improve as much, although it remains to be seen if either of those sides can last the pace.

When we invested heavily in our squad we were criticised for it, but the reality was that the gap between the old 'Big 4' and the rest of the league was so huge that only an enormous amount of investment would allow a club to reach their level, never mind surpass it. Spurs may have spent a lot of money, but they sold their best player (something they have done regularly over the years). Their financial model may win them fans in the media, but it's never going to turn them into title challengers with the way money is distributed in football, and with the FFP plans now in place.

This season for Spurs was only ever going to be a 5th or 6th place finish, with a challenge for 4th, and a good cup run. That's currently where they are today. If Levy and the Spurs fans were expecting more, then they were wrong.

I think AVB is probably best taking a job in another country next, to try and rebuild his reputation. Will be interesting to see her Spurs take on next as their boss.

Its certainly a weird one. I think everyone looked at their signings in the summer and thought they had bought well and were a definite to oust arsenal out of 4th place.

AVB has not done badly, but the spurs board will look at the football being produced by us, arse and liverpool and ask the direct question, why cant spurs produce that level of football after spending £109m in the summer?

Its a funny old game. I think spurs have acted wrong to get rid of AVB and should have given him more time. Like others have said, Levy has no patience and spurs may be lucky to finish top 6 with all the changes. Having said that though, some of AVB's decisions did have me scratching my head. His refusal to play Defoe (their best striker) was very strange, its like he was told to play the expensive Soldado because of the money they spent.

I'll be honest and say I can't stand the bloke and will be glad that I won't have to listen to his nasal filled snivelling piss-pot interviews. His shitting on the line somehow really wound me up and even his ginger stubble annoys me.

His teams are a reflection on him. No dynamism, uncoordinated and lack any sense of confidence. The approach he takes is to cover his arse and when his team don't deliver I see it as a true reflection of the man himself.

As for the next manager, I don't really give a fuck. They are a club full of bankers (not wankers, bankers) who, from top to bottom, put money before the football. The only person I don't want to see there is Glenn 'Healing hands/I love England' Hoddle. Now that cunt really grips my shit.

PS. Wankers!

To settle you down as I know you will be worrying about AVB and if he's feeling OK, TalkShite mentioned that he'd be getting about £15 million compo, plus what he got from Chelsea. He could whipe out Portugals debt soon!

I thought they had spunked most of the money on no mark players personally & said so on here.

The only player I would want from Spurs' whole squad is Eriksson & he would be a gamble.

Chirches may or may not turn out to be ok one day, but he certainly isn't a Prem player yet.

Eriksen is one of those who loudy said he would 'never join Man City, no history, too much money etc etc' - like Huntelaar et al.

He can fuck right off.

For me Chiriches is a huge surprise, i was convinced he will still be a reserve at Spurs, but look at him, his is playing almost game in and out when he is not injured. I have a very poor opinion of my same nationality players, but except this fella.

He was very professional in and outside the pitch, never got a red card if e recall in his whole career and i was gutted we didn”t signed him. It still needs time, but he will be class in the premiership. Imagine he comes from a championship where you fall asleep watching a game to this, to what EPL represents worldwide, to world class strikers. Imho he was decent so far, but how can you grow even more when you have Kaboul or Dawson as your partner?

And Eriksen can fuck off. He looks like an injury thicking bomb. The only player i like from what AVB brough is Paulinho. Not as good as Fernandinho, but still class.

I remember when AVB arrived at Chelsea; in one of his early press conferences, he mentioned stuff like how he tells the players that they should never pass the ball square, but at an angle, because if they pass it square, then it goes straight accross the path of the opposition player & they could potentially give the ball away. The press were mighty impressed.

I immediately put him down as a phoney, lucky, fucking turd.

Lucky isn't bad. Phony turds aren't fantastic tho. He shouldn't be plying his wares as a young manager in this spotlight. It's only down to Roman's arrogance and hubris that we get a gem like that.

He's 'only' going to get £4.5mil which is his contract paid up until the end of next season. It was Chelsea who paid him off about £15mil (never ever believe TalkSHIT)

TS saying today that Frank De Boer wasn't interested in job but now changed their tune and his agent says he's in for it.

Good or bad?

Don't think it matters too much who is manager whilst Levy pulls the strings tbh. De Boer has potential to be a good Prem manager but he will have one hand tied behind his back. Dislike the spuds immensely but if they can knock the rags out of top 4 i'll be cheering like a good 'un
