Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

The requirement is a big chelsea win...4-0 sounds good. let scum have their mini revivals then a nice slap and sneer from the top table. How some can wish for scum to win is beyond me.

How anyone could want one of our main title challengers to lose is beyond you?!
Really? Well if we Chelsea win tomorrow and we lose the league by 2 points will you still be glad they won this game?

I mentioned it a few weeks ago but I think the fact that some would rather see the scum lose, rather than us win (yes I'd class it almost as a win for us if Chelsea lose) is perplexing.

I never want scum to win. if we lose by 2 points ill look at the 3 away defeats against bottom half sides thank you very much

So you can't put what's in the best interests for City ahead of your hatred for the rags?
Rags are a midtable side this year who pose no threat.
I'd rather the Rags win and knock Chelsea's confidence and give us daylight between ourselves and Chelsea.
How anyone could want our title challengers to win is beyond me.

They arent mid table. yet. you have your opinion, I have mine. This game is not pivotal. Ill trust City will deal with Chelsea as and when and trust that we wont drop any more soft points away from home against mid-bottom table sides.

While we're still in charge of our own destiny I couldn't give a toss about any other teams.

Rags aren't good enough to get more than another draw so that's what I'll hope for

Hindsight's a wonderful thing. Obviously if I knew we would win the league anyway then I'd want the rags to lose. But right now we have to see Chelsea as a very real threat who under Mourinho could bore their way to the title. They've also picked up some form lately and played some less boring football tbh.

However, give me City 1st and Rags 4th over City 2nd and Rags 10th any day of the week.
Rags will not challenge this year so I don't really give a shit about what they do. They may sneak top four or they may not but who cares? Sure it will be nice and funny if they miss out but I certainly won't lose any sleep over it if they do make 4th.

We learnt two years ago that come the end of the season, every point counts. I want Chelsea and Arsenal to drop as many points as possible until they're out the title race.

I don't want the Rags to win on Sunday, I want Chelsea to lose. There's a difference.

Yes, and if we needed Chelsea to drop points this week in order for us to win the league, then I'd want them to drop points. But as you said, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

But right now we don't know so we should want them to drop points. Until/ If Chelsea are out of the title race they should be treated as title challengers and I always want our title challengers to lose. I would rather not take a chance and i'd want to take every advantage possible to us.
If we win the league and rags finish 4th I won't give a shit because we will have won the league. If we come second by a point and Rags come 5th, i'd still be gutted.

0-0 draw ideal for me.

You are of course fully entitled to your opinion but of should recognise that others have quite different ones.

I have said in another thread that if at the start or in the early part of the season I could have been offered a choice of CITY winning the PL and the scum also qualifying for the CL or CITY 3rd and the scum not qualifying - it would be a no-brainer for me. Yes some of us hate them that much!!

It is not a question of hating them more than loving CITY - there are only a few on her that could match my 'pain credentials' - we are already on a road to success and we will win the PL many times in current years.

Not winning it this year would be a serious disappointment for me - seeing the scum drop out of the PL and perhaps enter a downward spiral would be A FUCKING MASSIVE CELEBRATION for me.

At this point I would not accept the offer because I think that they are not going to qualify anyway - but a win away to Chelski would be one thing that could really inject some momentum and would kick-start the media wankfest.........

Fuck them - come on Chelski - bury the twats!!!!

Did I just read it right that you'd rather us finish 3rd and Rags not qualify for cl than us winning the league and rags coming 4th?

You'd honestly rather United finished 5th then us finish 1st? That just makes no sense.
You clearly do hate them more than you love city if you'd take them finishing 5th over us winning the league. I just can't even begin to understand that. I'd take winning the league every day thankyou very much.

@ BRF - Mate - I respect your opinion - please respect mine - and do not tell me what I think. If you really think that you could go anywhere near matching my love for CITY - well you must be pretty fucking special!!

Your thinking seems limited only to your view and you cannot bring yourself to understand the view others have on this topic.

I suspect that you are not of my generation and have not had to go anywhere near the level of pain I have.

Johnny come lately fans (not saying you are one) will probably have a rag like mentality and only see trophies as the measure of success. A lot of my generation - and dedication to CITY - see other things.

The swing of power in Manchester - the bursting of the media wankfest bubble - and anything that hurts those smug, arrogant, know-nothing scum fuckers all have a value to me

I accept that you might not understand this - but please do not tell me what my feelings are - especially with regard to my love of CITY

But surely that pain would be better relinquished by us WINNING THE LEAGUE than us finishing 3rd and them 5th.
I grew up watching Rags win everything for fucking years, now we have a chance to do that.

Ahhh, the "qualify yourself as a supporter" response.

No mate. Blue all my life. Withington born and bred.

Point is, there is no better way of flicking the v's at the rags than by us winning trophies. I'm in this, and always have been, because I love City and want them to win. I honestly don't give two fucks about United anymore unless it's derby day.

I don't mind if Fulham or Newcastle or Stoke win if it benefits us so why should I care if another average side win if it benefits us?
