Unlucky there Croatia. Not been overly impressed by Brazil tonight, I must say. Take Neymar out and they really flatter to deceive

Seriously, I don't know what the fuck you lot are watching. If you ever challenge the keeper like that, there is only ever gonna be one outcome ESPECIALLY if the keeper flaps at it - regardless of whether you touch the keeper before or after he flaps. You all know the keeper is over protected, so I don't understand the surprise over that decision.

In this case olic's shoulder hits the keeper at the same time as he flapped. It was a foul

Tyldesley and Fifa get their wish, then, with endless banal platitudes from ITV's paid-for Establishment arsehole.

What a fucking disgrace of an opening game. Brazilian and Fifa corruption at its height.

you do have to wonder. his work rate is exactly what the team was missing, especially in the first half. and he will help their shaky defence.

Fucking hell, how many times do u want him to mention it in a short, 1 sentence summary of each minutes events

"That's a poor decision - replays suggest the striker seems to have fallen over "

He later said that Olic's was entitled to jump for the ball with the keeper and that was also a poor decision

I don't know what some of you expect from commentators at times.

I was enjoying that until the ref took control.

I fucking hate shit like this and does nothing for my serious paranoia that these sort of games are fixed.

I'll say no more. Well done Brazil, you didn't deserve it - 'Hello Blatter'.

It was game changing. He barely said a word, as your post shows. It should have set the tone for the rest of his commentary, but it didn't. He happily shrugged it off just as ITV's commentators did.

Edit. In fact, here's the start of Glendenning's post-match summary.

Peep! Peep! Peep! It's all over. Brazil have won the opening game of their own World Cup, with a victory that was slightly fortuitous

Fucking wanker, he is.

Why would you give the opening game of the World Cup to a referee who normally operates in a league about the level of League 1?

Brazil annoyed me tonight in a Ferguson-rag sort of way. Yes they did some good stuff at times, but got all the breaks, all the decisions, and kept whining, but the result will mean the commentators can make the result fit the legend.

With all respect mate, there were two decisions that he called the officials out on as both being wrong.

Glendenning signs off on the Guardian's MBM..

Croatia will feel very aggrieved that they went behind to a penalty that almost certainly shouldn't have been awarded. They played well tonight, but not well enough.

Not well enough? They lost to a cheat referee, you cunt.

Barry Glendenning, rewriting history as we speak. Fucking FIFA lackey.,
