The stand out thing is that our players seem to genuinely like him and are delighted for him and the success he is having.

Yes I've noticed that.
Think that must be down to his work ethic and the fact he hasn't treated the loan like some kind of holiday!

Our Frank is a very intelligent chap (MENSA level, if I'm not mistaken). I'm sure he is smart enough to appreciate the chance he's been fiven within the city empire. I also think he is a genuinly likeable chap and a hard working professional, which is a very good way to earn the respect from your new colleagues.

I'm living in NY now and my company is pitching to work with NYCFC meaning I've been invited to two or three decent events and met Captain America (a thoroughly nice guy) and a few of the operation team. They're already have an amazing set up despite not even having a ground!

Anyway, I was on IM to a colleague when Lampard signed for NYCFC. The conversation went:
Me: Hey, Brett - NYCFC have just signed Fat Frank Lampard
Brett: Amazing! tell me, why do they call him Fat Frank?
Me: Well, his name's Frank and he's fat

I fear the road to adopting footy here is a long and tortuous one

Frank is showing Yaya how to be as good as Yaya. Does that make sense? No, but it means Frank is fucking better at Yaya's job than Yaya is. Frank was buzzing about chasing the ball on the edge of our area late in the game, ran past Yaya to get near the ball while Yaya fucking jogged and watched whilst puffing his cheeks out.

Fuck you Yaya

Long live Frank

Lampard should not be on the bench tomorrow night , never mind starting.

Because we have better players than Lampard ( aged 36 , not 24) , and not only better players but much younger , fitter players.

Yaya was fucking magnificent v Hull. Absolutely fucking brilliant. And he was passing the ball and stopping his opponents better than Lampard right upto the final whistle. About time people changed thefucking record re Yaya. Last few games he's been right back on it.

Frank is nowhere near good enough to even begin to lace Yaya's boots as a central midfielder . As a footballer, he never has been, even at his peak, but his eye for a goal & abiity to ghost in at any moment, plus his excellent finishing & delivery of the ball is what has made him one of the best in his position.

But watching the game just now, the way Lampard thinks of moving the ball, & the way Yaya (& City for that matter) do it, is different & Yaya/City are on the whole miles better at it. Frank plays like England, City play like a continental team. It's him who could have learned from us & become an even better player by picking up some of what Yaya & Silva have, & England totally lack. He was a great player, but seeing him at City now, I'm convinced he would have been even better playing in a more imaginative, adventurous team than Chelsea (as would Gerrard if he'd gone abroad).

Just imagine what Barkley could pick up here if he joined in the summer...

If he could combine that incredible drive and flair with an ability to properly play football he could be scarily good.

I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Me too,he looks to be enjoying his footy with us and definately helped Yaya get the goal steadying the ship a little.

just watched InsideCity and the guy seems like a great guy. i think his short stint at the club could prove to be just as helpful off the pitch (passing on his work ethic and experience to others) as on

It will be definitely more helpful than your short stint with the club anyway.

Frank's the man. Still weird seeing him in a city shirt, but I've a feeling he's gonna play a big part for us, particularly over Christmas and January.
