Tbh since losing players like Scholes, Giggs, Ferdinand, Vidic in addition to losing purple nose, they've become a lot less detestable.
Just need to get Ashely Young, Rooney and RVP out and then it's pretty much job done.

Yep, I agree mate. It's easier to focus hatred on Wiggy than the manager at the moment.

Indeed this morning he said they did not deserve more than a point at yesterday. Red Nose would only say stuff like that when he had already won the league.

Plus I can't take him seriously with his Schteve Mcclaren accent.

Gobsmacked at the lack of "support" for Bacon. He, for me, is still the leader of this gang. He is the cunt all the others look to for "inspiration".

Mourinho is detestable, no question. So are Rodgers and Pardew.
Pardew, in fact, with the other thread of what would they be if they weren't footballers, would likely have been a debt collector or bailiff. Some job where he can bully people less fortunate.
Rodgers is detestable, but once the dippers fire him and he sinks like a stone, hardly anyone will give a fuck about him. He is a chancer who got lucky.
Mourinho tries to be clever and for the first couple of years in England was different than the rest and wasn't the egotistical meglomaniac he is now. Just because he has been succesfull, remarkably so in fact, doesn't mean he is likeable.

Back to Bacon. He invented 'Fergie time'. He was the first manager to almost pick and choose who reffed his teams games. The cunt didn't speak to the BBC for years. His sides surrounded and harangued referees as a matter of course. He made his players pull out of playing for their national sides. The list goes on. He is the master, the one the others try to emulate. It's almost as if they wear friendship bracelets with 'WWFD' on them.

What Would Fergie Do.

Give it another five years and I reckon Mourinho will have surpassed him. But for now, it is surely Bacon still?

Haha brilliant post mate!

Absolutely.

In fact I think we're lucky to have the admirable Pellegrini at our helm. By comparison, he makes most other managers look like unprincipled third-raters.

For me, the way he conducts himself is the benchmark by which all others are judged.

The cunt/manager role seems to be very popular these days. There were characters around years ago who some fans would find annoying, Allison being one, fellow big mouths like Clough & Bond, devious gits like Revie but so many utter cunts ? I mean Allison would talk defiantly about the rags, & they hated it but what we see now, where the cunt/managers are upto something with almost every interview; it's different.

Busby, Mercer, Shankly, Revie etc etc were not like these people. The first professional cunt I can think of, was Tommy Docherty ( but at least he was funny) & it's apt that he was a regular cunt/commentator when the Cuntmaster General started at the swamp.

Ferguson was what Mourinho aspires to be. Can't understand why anyone likes Mourinho.

Starangely enough for someone who despises rags & scousers; I respected Busby & I actually liked Shankly.

I recon Brendan Rodgers probably thinks he's better.

Here's a list of some of his most memorable quotes:

1. ”It was a perfect away performance, apart from the first 10 minutes.”

2. “I’ve always said that you can live without water for many days, but you can’t live for a second without hope.”

3. On Luis Suarez: “He is a real warrior of spirit.”

4. “My biggest mentor is myself because I’ve had to study, so that’s been my biggest influence.”

5. “I am not a power freak.” (We think the lady doth protest too much!)

6. “I started coaching for one reason and that was to make a difference for people, not just as footballers but as human beings.”

7. “When we have the football, everybody’s a player.”

8. “You train dogs, I like to educate players.”

9. ‘I think there’s three players who will let us down this year — the cause, the fight, everything – and I have written them down already in these three envelopes. Make sure you are not in one of the envelopes.”

10.”I use a quote with the players,“Per aspera ad astra”, which is Latin for ‘through adversity to the stars’.”

11. “When you’ve got the ball 65-70% of the time, it’s a football death for the other team. We’re not at that stage yet, but that’s what we will get to. It’s death by football. You just suck the life out of them.”

12. “Joe Allen is one of the most courageous players I’ve seen.

13. “I will leave no stone unturned in my quest – and that quest will be relentless.”

14. “I always say a squad is like a good meal – I’m not a great cook but a good meal takes a wee bit of time, but also to offer a good meal you need good ingredients.”

15. “All I’ll ever do is all I’ve ever done in any job, and that’s promise to fight for my life for the people of the city.”

16. On the ‘Being: Liverpool’ documentary: “It was something I didn’t watch, and thankfully it’s over.”

17. “I’ve always worked along the statistic, that if you can dominate the game with the ball you have a 79% chance of winning a game of football.”

18. “I believe a young player will run through a barbed wire fence for you. An older player looks for a hole in the fence.”

19. “The problem with being a manager is it’s like trying to build an aircraft while it is flying.”

20. “We play with 11 men, other teams play with 10 men and a goalkeeper.”

The media have a lot to answer for all this. They encourage rent-a-quote gobshites and try and stir the shit by feeding leading questions knowing that they'll get a few headlines from it.

Rodgers though combines the "holier than thou" attitude of Wenger with the self-regarding, egocentricity of Maureen. He promotes himself as some kind of intellectual or philosopher - who does he think he is, Joey Barton?

There's another quote in which he says the people of Sunderland (I think), who'd heard all about his Swansea team, had now had a chance to see just how good they were at first hand. Sunderland had won the game 2-0.

A journalist told me the following story so it therefore must be absolutely true.

A few years ago now, a well known London-based scribe hosted a party. The guest list varied from friends and family to work colleagues and a few folk he knew from the world of football.

It was a pretty big house and one room was cornered off to the bemusement of most of the revellers. It transpires that this was the VIP area. At a house party.

Alan Pardew, then manager of West Ham United, was the only person sitting in it.
