Rags or dippers, equal loathing?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Paraphrasing Francesco Vincenzo Zappa.
The Red Zone is for Loathing and unloading only. If you have to Loathe or Unload....go to the RED zone.

Scum are dreadful winners.
Dippers are the poorest losers.

I don't have the regional rivalry history vibe between the two cities, and I came to be a City fan partially due to my dislike of ManU and our underdog status. They are the club I most dislike overall, so can't really top them, but the way things went the end of two seasons ago with the love fest for them over us, and then the way the Sterling saga went down they have shot up in rankings. Yet, that mostly is about their fans that I read about not know in person.

Liverpool are allegedly popular in the U.S. and I knew a fan who was a professor when I was in uni years ago, but I don't know too many others so I don't have a strong opinion about them here. Most in NYC follow the current front-running teams, and can depend on folks' ethnic background sometimes. Yet we seem to be catching up, but not quite into the Barca, Real, Arsenal, Chelsea realm.

There is no comparison, the rags are way out in front. Back in the seventies, before they acquired history, most scousers fans I met were decent enough, but the rags were rags even then. When we were crap the scouse were supportive enough in an annoyingly condescending way, while the rags remained arrogant tossers. It’s only since we passed them that Liverpool fans have turned against us specifically, while the fading of the rags has achieved the impossible and made them even worse. Also I have never lived next door to a scouse-supporting knobhead; the rags on the other hand….

That's the bit about them that I hate most.
Like being too important to play in the FA cup.
Insufferable smug cunts.

The dippers are trying hard to outdo them in cuntishness, but it's an impossible task.

Plus the fact it all changes over time, a few years back spuds were rivalling the rags in the hatred stakes, now no-one cares.

But the rags are timeless arseholes.

Spot on.

Growing up, Liverpool were just a team who beat us every year. But the rags hated them which made me hope they'd win. The likes of Liverpool and Arsenal weren't competitors to us so it was hard to dislike them.

These days my hatred of a number of sides has grown. But it's still nothing compared to that for the rags

I am growing to dislike the red scouse these last few years and especially their istree obsession but my utter hatred of all things scum has been passionate in me since age 9 in Eccles. many many years ago.

Like many on here on here I am sure there is no comparison - hating the scum is in my DNA to the degree that if I had the choice of us winning the PL this year or being 4th with the scum not qualifying for CL then I could not only live with the latter but might prefer it

I think the teams attract my hatred in different ways scum due to their audacity in claiming to be Manchester's team and the historic rivalry plus annoyingly overconfident fans who know fuck all about football, The dippers fans who show a mixture of unfounded pride in themselves, that halfwit manager of theirs and the resolute harking back to the 80s ( a bit like England in 1966 a long time ago) and the arrogance of printing shirts as champions the season before last when we rightly won it.
They are like dog shit on your shoe who cares which dog it came out of its fucking annoying, and they both play in red like most cunts (except Bournemouth)

Must say, much as i depise both rags and dippers; if we were to win the league i couldn't care less where they finished. My support for City outweighs my hatred for others

Fully understand and I expect the vast majority feel that way. Obviously my absolute preference is us to win the leagues and them fail spectacularly

My hatred borders on obsessive - just been like that for 40+ years

I don't do degrees, I hate them both. When they play each other I am rooting for them both to lose.

Also for Bodgers and Shrek to injure each other somehow. Not that I want anyone seriously hurt but if Bodgers could lose his two front teeth gnawing into Shrek's hairplugs, I think I'd declare the season a success right there, no matter how City do.

Taggart contributed to the level of hatred with his severe bitterness against us. Announcing we don't matter, Liverpool is the biggest game etc.

Fellaini getting away with that kind of behaviour is just par for the course in refereeing bias both of these cunts have enjoyed against almost everyone, for as long as I've been watching football.

However, when it comes to major, game changing decisions vs City, for every one the rags have had, Liverpool have had 3 or 4 imo.

When I think back to big key moments in games, I actually lose count when thinking about stitch up's 'back in the day' v Liverpool. But for those not old enough to really remember those days, just look at the last couple of seasons. Micah Richards' pen which clearly bounced off his fucking leg, onto his arm. Skrotal handling the ball in the last seconds at Klanfield.

From small game changing incidents, like John Barnes being allowed to blatantly control the ball with his hand, resulting in an opening goal early on in an FA Cup tie, to George Courtney, failing to send off Burrows for the most obvious, last man prof foul in the history of football, then awarding Liverpool 2 penalties, from the fucking halfway line, those cunts have been laughing their way through City, for fucking years.

The only time we seriously challenged them mid 70s, they were attacking kids & older people at Anfiled whilst being lauded as 'great supporters' in the media.

Anyone who met them on a regular basis, knew different, including the police, which is the reason for their uncaring behaviour at Hillsboro. Yes they were wrong there, treating many ordinary Liverpool fans like a bunch of animals, but on most occasions when they met Liverpool fans previously, they would have met a bunch of the most horrible, klinkers on the arse of humanity, that anyone has ever had the misfortune to meet.

There are decent Liverpool fans, & there are decent Utd fans, but there are just fucking gazillions of absolute cunts, of every imaginable kind, who support those two clubs & the clubs themselves are a mirror image of each other. Liverpool now, are Utd in the 70s 80s etc, & vice versa.
