Three clean sheets in the last five games. Just saying. Despite looking like we're playing football according to what looks like a Jackson Pollock inspired tactic, we're doing something right obviously.

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

That was our 9th of the season in the league, second most if I'm not mistaken?

The problem isn't the defence - it's the goals per game that we're scoring (or rather not scoring). We're not pressing enough further up the pitch to force errors when we don't have the ball either - although last night was a bit of an improvement with regards to pressing (both of those things are key points in Pellegrini's system and why we did so well in his first season here).

And no sign of the troll who started this thread.

Or the other troll who were very active when we hit a bump.

Pair of cunts can't call themselves fans and shouldn't be allowed on a man city fans forum.

By no means are we comfortable with Demichelis's lack of pace, but it does show that we can still score goals and protect the two centre backs and look reasonably comfortable doing it, with two hard tackling centre midfielders, willing to get up and down the field. All this without Yaya starting.
It wasn't perfect, but the overall workrate from everyone wasvup, today.
That's quite encouraging. I still think with just the odd tweak here and there, we can find our rhythm and go on a typical late in the season run.

He may get done for pace on occasion but Demi has been a massive calming influence on our defence ever since he fucked off the ponytail almost two years ago. The man is a class footballer and has turned out to be an inspired signing. I still think he was as responsible as anyone for seeing us over the line in 2013/14.

I don't disagree with that. It shows that when we defend as a team we can cope with the lack of pace. His positional sense was better today also. What he does give us is someone who is comfortable carrying the ball out of defence.
Injuries or not, we have the personnel to win this league. We need to defend as a team and attack as a team. Get the overall workrate going and improve our passing at pace and we'll be back terrifying teams.

Totally agree with this.
He's a master at organising the defence. Much better than Kompany imo.

Jamie Pollock more like. Defending of set pieces in first half (in front of me) was attrocious. They should have scored in the second minute and we constantly gave them free headers. At one point for a free kick, Otta was stood behind a bigger Palace player, so I'm not sure how he expected to win the ball. Perhaps we're getting a bit lucky, so about time.
