The more we get familiar with what Pep wants the worse we seem to get. When Pep gets players in that can successfully play his system we will get more clean sheets then

Give me Mangala over Otamendi any day of the week

Saw Lescott in the studio at the Watford game, wonder if he's free to pull on a shirt.

In our first title winning season Lescott was our best defender. Komps got a lot of praise, and rightly so, but Lescott was class (apart from giving the ball to Cisse).

Mangala has been dropped again by Valencia today. The strangest of signings as he looked a clumsy fucker when at Porto. Pep is starting to get some stick but it's the people that bought the likes of Mangala and the Otter that are to blame.

And his defending for the second was bush league, jumping away from the flight of the ball into the net, fucking joke. Of course Komps and Zabs both shat the bed on that one too.

Porto thought the same, shipped out Otter and retained Mangala the summer before Quim came to us.

Honestly, it must come as a surprise to no one with anything to do with the club that we haven't had clean sheets since Pep arrived.

Why do you say that? Personnel or tactics?
I believe Guardiola has had the best defensive record in his league almost every season

Defensive structure is paramount
Pep’s free-flowing philosophy may be what draws in the casual observer, but he dedicates more training sessions to defensive organisation than anything else. It shows: before the 2015-16 winter break Bayern had conceded only 49 goals in 85 Bundesliga games since he arrived, keeping 50 clean sheets.
