It really does look as though he's thinking in terms of mounting a promotion challenge, next season, from the Championship.

If this is the case, I'm surmising he must have received some assurances from the Board, that he wouldn't be sacked in the summer ?? On that basis, he would be under extreme pressure to get them back into the PL, at the first attempt and he could be on a loser to nothing.

He could be playing either a dangerous game, or a very imaginative one but, with what we seem to know about Gollum, albeit only superficially, I personally would doubt it's the latter instance.

I am amazed he was not sacked earlier and they will go with him until the end. I still think that even I dislike him, he is not the main reason of what is happening at Sunderland. The club is a shithouse without any direction.

They need to go down, for 4 years now they are playing bad and somehow they manage to escape. If they will escape again with Gollum this year then that will be a proper miracle.

I recall him scoring twice against us when we won the last title. We were 3 up at WBA then he scored twice. I recall at Everton scoring against us also.

That being said, Bendtner had a record with us also.
