why would player sales count when talking about how much you've spent on new players?

i believe this is the most by any manager ever.

but one could also say, you need to spend to win. no team is winning without buying good, expensive players and just fielding academy products and cheap gems.

In this article, I liked the comment "if we're going to be portrayed as serial killers regardless, we might as well get some blood on our hands".

Seems to say it all most succinctly.

Tossers.

It's like the cat calling the dog 'hairy-hole', as we say over here.

Barca bought... how many years ago?
Bayern always buy up their competitors' talent in the low cost German market...
All English clubs have to pay the TV-deal premium and he inherited an aging team - everyone knew that...

The clubs ruining football are the ones that are asking us to pay well over the odds for players, not us.

Everton for example, they've just got £75 million for Lukaku so when they've gone to Swansea for Sig, Swansea have said "Sound, you've just got £75 million you can give us £50 million!" And so on and so on.

The selling club thinks they're getting one over on the buying club but it ruins them in the long run.

At least we try to break the cycle though. Instead of selling we usually offer a loan deal and subsidised wages...

:)

The hypocrisy and lack of perspective frankly amazes me.

I just wrote a fairly epic comment, replying to Paul Wilson's latest moan (and the many other commentors) on the Guardian's site, which was a revised version of what I wrote here the other day

I only ask because I've come across lots of rags on Twitter retweeting the same thing, chap.

Genuine question but why would anyone want to 'foe' anyone else on this Forum ??

They must be particularly delicate and sensitive souls to have to resort to such measures, which seems to be the complete antithesis of what a Forum should be all about; I mean how can you 'censor' what thoughts and comments another poster might be offering, whilst still remaining on that Forum ??

At the end of the day, Carl and Nigel seem to have quite a robust dialogue ongoing between themselves but, to their credit(s), they just don't 'foe' each other.

This concept is particularly alien to myself and I can't, for the life of me, comprehend it.
