That's how I saw it as well - he needs a run of games and for him to carry on playing in that role.

Rodri and Cencelo need dropping..Rodri especially as we will not win a cunting thing with this current starting 11.

Surprised I keep reading some out there "surprised" that Bernardo is not so happy.

This is what I wrote I thought here and on BM after watching the PL Trophy presentation:

HOWEVER, I can see him completely re-inventing himself at another side.

If we sell I 100% put loads of performance based fees as I think a new scene may do wonders for him.

Very sad if he goes but I have to say I get it. He came close to back from the dead when I was ready to send him off but then seems to have not quite got back to his best and now with Foden and Mahrez, hard to see him getting games as anything other than a squad player until he proves he can be a starter.

Otherwise just gets games as Gundo's backup.

Not what he wants, I am sure and he tried to come back. Maybe doesn't want to again. Maybe Mendy his best mate off too if we can get rid, surely. I think Bernardo was trying to be more of a leader, but the Mendy incident and Dias has stolen his shine.

Wish him the best and appreciate him massively.

I think we have a problem because I also seem to think he was fantastic without Kevin. Also his best period at us was in the second half of 18/19 when guess what, Kevin was also absent.
Now, to push the pattern also, Mr. Whippy played fantastically without Kevin, but seemed to lose his mojo with him.

If we go even further, I think Merlin was the only that managed a balanced with Kevin so this is a weird one. Kevin is one of the players we put first on our favorite lineup at the moment, however, he seems to step on the toes of the players around him.

I wonder whether Pep thought he might make a DM, though maybe not in the traditional sense. He is tigerish and has tenacity so could break up play and is good in the tackle. He has the attributes to play there, but would be wasted for me there as he can offer much more going forward

Sounds brilliant, yet something tells me Bernardo is not at all interested in this role as he would want to revive his career.

He's not a 34+ year old.
