Home to see the Mrs and gets to take in a bit of the love of his life. Are we classed as the mistress?
We’re the master, Pep is the mistress and Barca are next doors dog.

Pep Guardiola on Barça interest for Raheem Sterling: “Honestly I have no idea. But if Barcelona are interested in any of our players, I’m convinced they can get them. Barça continues to be attractive, more than attractive…”,

“If Barcelona are interested in any of our players, I am convinced that they can get them. Barca continues to be an attractive club, more than attractive. The city, the club, the history and this for the trainers, for the players always seduces a lot.
"If Barcelona interests one of our players, they will set up the machinery into operation, it is a liner.
“Barca can use their media to influence signings. That’s the thing about Barcelona; they can do what they want, good or bad.”
It sounds to me like he’s saying they’re a snide bunch of people and they can get our players by using their media and doing what they want without following any rules.
I personally wouldn’t have said anything and refused to answer the question, but he does seem desperate to discuss Barca at any opportunity.

Thanks for the context, glad I didn't jump to conclusions. I think the highlighted bit is quite telling and follows on from his point about the hierarchy clubs getting "help"

I like how he mentioned the city of Barcelona being an attraction as well. If I was a footballer at a high standard and had options to choose from then I’d definitely head to PSG, Roma, Milan, Barca purely because of the life my family would have in those cities. I think that is why Barca will still be able to attract players even though they’re in the shit, like Pep says, because of the history and the city itself.

But mostly central and eastern footballers "retire" either in Turkey, second-tier China, below-average teams from Qatar, Kuwait, etc.
There was a Romanian at New York City, good player, similar to Redmond or Raheem, Pep talked about him a bit, last year he left for Kuwait (left as their best players) and then he moved to Salonika in Greece. Why? Because his wife wanted him close to home where her (not his) relatives are.
I don't think, in many cases, they decide, but their wife/gf. See Bernie.
But can't blame them.

Some have most of their career there and don’t just retire there. Look at Vladimír Weiss. Obviously has no ties so he went over to Qatar (I think) in 2014 and only just went back home last year. He could have been a decent mid-lower Prem team player or a very good Championship player. I’d say he is no worse than Andros Townsend. He made the choice for money and that’s fair enough, it’s a short career.

Really thought he was going to be something special. I still think he could have been more successful but didn't maybe have that same drive to either beef up his strength or maybe it was a lack of will to win.
He certainly had the ability

3rd actually behind San Francisco and Amsterdam.
Ajax could be looking more attractive.
