I want to see Alvarez his level st the World Cup had me thinking we have the flexibility to rip it up. We’re robotic, when was the last time we had a Ferna type thunderbolt or a fuck this Vinny moment. We are also still wasting to many opportunities to shoot or get Haaland in, we have the full toolbox to use PEP.

Has his style become predictable? Or better said reached it's peak and now it's started the decline?

Pep has said it’s the other players fault and not Haaland. Haaland is “moving well”. It’s up to the others to find him.

“It's our fault. Erling has been good all season. It's not metrics. When I finish the game, one second later I know if he was involved or not and who should be involved more or not.

"I don't need numbers or metrics; I know exactly. Yes, of course, it depends on us. We need to look for him a little more."

I wonder if a midfield with Gundo and Kev in is too old? We need Bellingham this summer really.

I think we missed Kev big style the other night. Against Arsenal he was MOTM with a goal and assist. Even playing poorly at Forest he looks more likely to create than anyone else. Totally agree about Bellingham.

Yeah, Kev at 50% is going to create more than most. I think to keep Kev going we need legs next to him in midfield. Someone like Bellingham would be spot on. And it would likely help Erling as well.

Foden would be stupid to be pissed off about Grealish’s contract, because he signed a new contract AFTER Grealish had joined. I really doubt that one.

The Haaland one, I imagine he’s annoyed about the service, it’s pissing most of us off so I can imagine it’s annoying him.

don't buy the foden one.
my gut feel on foden is that it's personal issues - his family are massive chavs and i think that's becoming a burden now he's had his eyes opened to the world he could be part of with all the ££££s he's earning

But he doesnt play to our strengths.

We have won loads playing our way so shouldnt need to adjust for one player.

We either try someone else there or go through this painful period trying to find a new system that works for all? It might mean a drought on the trophy front in the short term though.

Im pretty sure the squad we had last season walks the league this year.

Its a problem though and a pretty big one for us at the moment.

He’s a striker though mate, he’s not a “false 9”. We shouldn’t buy a class player and then try and make them something they’re not. If we wanted a false 9 we could have bought Felix. We obviously don’t want one so we’ve bought a proper striker.

I can guarantee we wouldn’t buy Messi and try and use him as a winger, so why try and force Haaland to be something he’s not?

Pep used Lewandowski as a proper striker for Bayern. No false 9 expecting him to run back to our own box. It worked. He can play with a striker.

I dont disagree which begs the question what was the thought process when we bought him? We must have accepted we need to change but we may need to change our other 4 attacking players to accommodate this.

I am not expecting haaland to be a false 9 or to track back but benzema, kane and to a lesser extent lewnadowski are abs brilliant with holding the ball up, linking play and then getting on the end of it to score. Haaland only does one of those which is get on the end and score. He really needs to work on being more effective outside of this.

I think our press is all wrong too, our front three of grealish, haaland and mahrez dont press well together. Mahrez and grealish are relatively slow for wingers and the poor pressing means teams get out easier putting extra pressure on our midfield. Gundo and kevin not the quickest or full of energy either means it all breaks down easier than before and the pressure on the defence causes us to concede. I think it’s one of the reasons why pep insisted on putting one of the full backs in there for extra energy and pace. It needs to be addressed.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pep Guardiola: "Erling Haaland needs the team to score the goals. He’s not like Lionel Messi when he can get the ball, dribble 3-4 and decide the game for himself.."

Did he actually say this?
If so he is an absolute mong.
He is having arguably the best striker in a generation and he is saying he can’t score without the team then he continues to suck on Messi, the fella that used the club he is employed to get a better contract at Barcelona, then to get more money from Paris.

I hope he didn’t say it. If so, really poor man management.

Change the words to “Pep Guardiola needs Messi to win the Champions League” and it’s spot on.

He isn’t wrong though. A striker is only as good as the service he gets unless you are able to do what Messi can. Which in reality is only him. Ronaldo, Mbappe, Lewandowski, Neymar, Suarez, Ibrahimovic, Aguero, Benzema are all forwards who in the last decade or so have scored over 400 career goals and none of those can/could do what Messi could in terms of picking the ball up and beating 3/4 players before scoring, at least on a regular basis.

That comment if it’s verbatim, isn’t a dig at Haaland, it’s more a message to the rest of the team as a reminder we have got the worlds best forward in our ranks and he will score plenty of goals. But only if he gets the service

I think it’s a comment that doesn’t need to be made Notts - That’s what PP means.

Why make that comment? What does he achieve? Messi knows Pep still loves him, that’s all it confirms.

Maybe. But in context, maybe he was asked why Haaland only has 2 goals in last 7 games? The media as we know twistbthings

Me too with the family talk was talking about the same going down to arsenal. He needs to fuck these goons off but it's difficult when its family
Spot on front 3 yesterday long may it continue but it's hard on Mahrez

Plenty of games to go round. The positive for us as they have to keep on performing or they know they are out. Foden has first hand experience of this recently

Mahrez as it goes May find more opportunities through the middle as time goes on as he looked ok there in first half in Leipzig
