L`Equipe is saying he agreed terms with Uefalona.

Perfect timing.

L’équipe is repeating a story in the Barcelona based Sport magazine.

Whether he goes or stays we can be sure the decision will not be a surprise to City or Pep. I think that Gundo has had his best years with us and the 4 goals in the last two matches need to be balanced against the inevitable gradual decline ahead. At 33 he has been running short on gas despite this recent crucial spell and when we recruit our next midfielder he would be odds on the one to make way. The best option for us would be an extension giving him the opportunity to move into a coaching role here but I suspect his new family just fancy more sunshine.

Daily Mail reporting he’s going to snub Barca and stay at City. Would be class.

We will see what happens after the match today and if he looks like he’s saying bye.

Surely a no brainer, stay and captain our team to even greater heights or go to a club potentially having no chumps league next season?

Ctit, just give hin the deal he wants FFS it's not even an unrealistic want is it

A good 2 year contract and an offer of a coaching role in some shape or form is deserved. A top class well liked and respected man.

What is the worst that can happen? - We sign him on a two year contract and he gets a career ending injury on day one. We end up paying him an extra year at 150k a week or so and it costs us £8m more than it would have done for a one year deal. But we get to start training him as a coach and get all his knowledge and experience to pass on to other players. By the end of the contract he will have done 9 years and was a bargain at £20m when we got him. He has been a great asset we should be doing what we can to keep him.

A positive update on Ilkay Gundogan contract situation as Barcelona fear missing out

This is an interesting claim from Mundo, who have covered the Gundogan story fairly extensively from a Barca perspective.

Seemingly, the length of the new contract has been the hold up the negotiations.

Perhaps now, Gundogan may be willing to committ.

It is not made clear if City have offered a two or three-year deal. Perhaps it could even be a one-year deal with the option of another. It could even be a one-year deal, with a further year that will be triggered automatically if a certain amount of appearances are made.

Two goals from outside the box in a cup final. Can’t imagine that’s happened very often before

Hope he stays. He can do what he wants, but I hope he stays.

Thank you, Mister Ice Cream man.

He's really up there with Silva, Agüero, KdB and Kompany imo. Proper legend, who always steps up at the business end of the season. If we can, if definitely keep onto him for another couple of seasons.

Lol might not go that far Mase
But Fuckle me Are we skint ? give him what he wants He’s still got it And his dressing room presence alone must be worth the length of contract issue

Talk of Barca not being able to afford his wages and have increased their offer to three years but with reduced wages

Any player that goes there anytime soon is on drugs.

If this is to be his swansong as a City player then what a way to bow out. Lifting 3 pots in a month

Please stay Gundog but if you do go, then thanks for what you've achieved with us

Quietly my favourite player over the last few years. May be anonomus in many games, but ALWAYS turns up at the business end of the season
