Hopefully he’ll get more minutes against Orient in the Cup. Plenty of training sessions between now and then.

I'm sure there's been far worse

Really? A back to keeper header that made pollocks look good and a yellow in 3 mins

I actually thought after the first 5 or 10 minutes he settled in and played well. He made a really good tackle in the second half just before he got taken off. He'll be fine. And as far as bad debuts go, I can think of one City debut that went a lot worse. Sadly it didn't get any better.

Poor kid probably feels down tonight. If he has any mettle, he will learn from today.

Agree.
However the language will be a big-big problem.
He’s young, alone, doesn’t speak (and maybe does not understand the language) and has fuckall experience. Comes from a football that has no history in players.

It will be a huge task in front of him.
I will be surprised if he makes it. I hope he does, of course.

Language barrier is definitely a major obstacle to integrating to his new life. It all depends on his mental resilience, but having played in the Uzbek league just four years ago with stints in Belarus & France before joining us aged 20 is perhaps his greatest achievement already. This also shows that he already developed significantly whilst abroad in two foreign countries.

Most promising academy kids across the country with tons of talents never make it to a middtable team never mind an elite team like us. For most part this is due to poor discipline and lack of self-development.

The boy has already proven he's worth to wear that badge, but whether he'll survive the cruel life of professional football is something nobody can predict.

The club will definitely provide him with the right environment to thrive in & the rest is up to him really. He could become a Rodri or a K Phillips.

Regardless of the language barrier, which can be overcome, he looks like he has the mental fortitude, I really want him to succeed.

Has anyone mentioned the Under-11s throw-in from that fraud Nunes, that led to the ball forward that Akanki could have easily pumped into Row Z? Kuz was dreadful at that moment, no argument, but that wanker at full-back started it all off. As he did v The Rags, Paris, etc. Until he is addressed fully, expect more shit shows. He makes luminaries of our dark days, eg, Ingebritsen, Groenendijk, Griffiths, Kernaghan and pissing Gerry pissing pissing Creaney look like worldies.

Don’t know about Nunes but Akanji was close and could have easily blocked that ball. Not only he didn’t do that but he also distracted Kuz and caused him to make that mistake.

My thoughts too. Should have taken charge.

Khusanov looks quite quick to me, which is a bonus

After a shaky start he settled in quite nicely. Shows his temperant. Would have been easy to let the occasion and situation get the better of him. Let's not forget he is a young lad in a new country thrust into a huge game within days of signing and probably with very little training or coaching and he probably doesn't understand much of what is said. And it's not as if his partner, Akanji, is a defensive rock.

Mentioned in the match thread I'll wager he had a tough upbringing and I think that will stand him in good stead. He's a tough cookie physically and I'll bet mentally too.

He will be all right. No doubts about it

Thanks to the BBC for reminding me it was one Patrice Evra who tops the nightmare debut league.

I won't have a word said about Pollock. I was there - one of the best goals ever :D

My son and I just looked at each other....

I wonder if Foden will swap numbers. AK47 has a good ring to it for someone from that part of the world.

If it's any consolation to him, no mention of debut or howler on the Uzbekistan newsnow!

Government has banned electronic cigarettes though..... :D

Baptism of fire, but giving away a goal and getting a booking is about average for our players this season. He's a kid and it will be a harsh lesson he will not forget.

In terms of worst signings, you'll go a long way to beat Steve Daley. - A decent player but a disaster for us.

In recent times Bony from Swansea i thought would do well and was a dud
