Bernardo should be nowhere near our first team for this game, or any game coming up. Hes been shite for 12 months

still think we'll get thumped on wednesday but feeling a bit more confident than i was after yesterday's energetic display - hopefully pep keeps the legs in the team!

Hopefully playing everyone in their natural position wasn't a fucking one off ...maybe the penny has finally dropped for PeP that letting players play where they can actually play is the sensible way forward !

Funny that, weren't you pissing yourself laughing at the team before the game

No...I was fuming Gundo was playing but the manager actually managed to play him where hes supposed to play.

Do you just lie because of an illness or are you just a liar by nature ?

And if he does you will still have the same fucking Muppet defending the selection.

Gundo didn't play in a different position though did he. He just had legs around him and played well.
So do you want Gundo to play in Madrid then. Try answering a question for once

This.

I'm praying we go with the same team again and they keep the same shape.

Will PeP fuck that plan up ? hes rarely, if ever, kept the same winning team and shape from one week to the next.

Gundo out for KDB for me.
Khus at RB because of his pace and Dias or Ake in alongside Stones.

Otherwise the same team as yesterday.

Defense needs to be the same mate - they all covered for each other and Rico did well yesterday

I wouldn't change anything.

Rico got exposed physically last week against them. I don't fancy his chances against their forward line. There are matches when it suits us to have him there, I don't think this game is one of them. Would be delighted though if the same back 4 plays and also proves me wrong.

I don’t think anyone in defence last week was worthy of a place mate -
Anyway , I’d be shocked to the core if pep played the same 11 - times change and opposing teams change , pep needs to change.

I’d bring kdb and Dias in personally. Dias more of a lock than kdb for me tho if he’s fit.

Great result and all, but the way this season has gone I’m far from thinking we’ve turned the corner yet.

KDB is a liability these days when it comes to not losing the ball - he will need plenty of protection behind him if pep decides to play him, and even if he starts him, he wont last the game IMO...gets injured or is knackered far too easily these days.

I would leave him on the bench.

Dias will definitely play if fit. I think it’s possible Ake will play too if he gets over his illness. God knows what will happen at RB. Wouldnt rule out Nunes playing. Im not sure Pep will risk Khusanov playing out of position. Playing at the Bernabeu is completely different to playing at the Etihad against a poor Newcastle side. Personally I’d play Dias as LCB and Khusanov at RCB offering protection to Rico but we really haven’t got an RB so any solution has its disadvantages. Stones and Nico together would be good. Double pivot out of possession with Nico having a bit more freedom to go forward. We have to score at least two goals to win in normal time so yes to Marmoush so that Madrid can’t just put two on Haaland. Rudiger will be back. Could play Foden to start and then think of bringing on Kevin for half an hour depending on the state of the match.

Let’s be realistic though. In all likelihood we’re going out but a decent performance would be nice. Very little time to prepare plus travel back from Spain for the dippers which is unfortunate.

The midfield needs a bit of thinking about. I think he will play Silva over KDB and keep him close to Nico.
Nico G, Silva, Foden, Omar, Erling, Sav.
Keep KDB and Doku on the bench.

Right back is another issue I would like to see Khusanov, Stones, Diaz Josko as a back 4. I would worry about Rico physically and defensively away in Madrid.

I think Khusanov provided good cover for Rico at the weekend and that in turn gave him a lot more confidence, I'd personally be happy with that pairing again.

So most on here are happy that it will be a completely different team to the one against Newcastle ?
Lovely , 5-1 it is then

Best performance the whole season and I don't care that it was against Newcastle...our whole link up pressing play was superb and our defense was better than its ever been.

I admit there are still parts where we have issues but some of the changes some fans are asking for are the same as the team that last played RM.

RB is the only possible change that I can see being justifiably changed.
