Nigels Tackle wrote:one good game v palace straight after the announcement doesn't hide the fact that he's not been the player he once was for over a year now. he's 34 in june and, even when he was younger, had a history of injuries. i'd rather not watch him struggle and i think the £400k/wk he frees up on the wage bill can be used to bring in younger, fitter reinforcements. of course i'll be sad to see him go but elite level sport is no place for passengers as we have found out this season.

Never taken to him as a person, so I personally couldn’t give a fuck about it. He’s been shite for a while and he’s on £400k a week - pretended to be injured for a good chunk of the season and it’s comeback to bite him.

I actually trust Pep here. The same thing happened with Aguero - we didn’t renew and he moved on, the time was right. Aguero didn’t moan like a twat.

Perhaps he should sack his agent.

"A lot of team-mates have spoken to me and I think they are also sad that I have to go but sometimes it goes like this," he added.

Time for Kev to be quiet or I'd let him go now.

Pep got asked that on Saturday and he was raging that he was asked.

It's done. We didn't go back when we told Aguero it was the end, we won't do with Kev.

For sentimental reasons we’d all love a u turn, but the head says Pep got this one right. Even when he’s fit enough to play, he’s losing duels, can’t got pas a player to cross and isn’t playing the killer balls we love him for.

Sad to see his legs go, but they’ve gone.

The fact gundogon has been so shite this year will be on the minds of the board and prevent a u turn imo

I think the main one is Walker. He fell off a cliff and I think Pep going to that restaurant with him to beg him to stay has had a big effect.

Ultimately though Kev hasn't been good enough. He's only got himself to blame having all that time off at the start of the season and then going off to play international football when his body can't take it. Interesting that he commented yesterday saying hes played well "the last four weeks" - what about the last 6 months Kev?

I think he is moaning too much in the media. Sad to see that, however, understandable if the board didn't have a proper sit down with him.

We all think we're irreplaceable, that's human nature. Time to man up and move on. Love everything that you've done for us and what we've achieved with your assistance but time has caught up with your game. Stop the whinging in public now.

He demanded his 400k a week. Which would be madness at his age and recent injury record.

And he's only played well to put himself in the shop window.

Kevin says he wasn’t made any offer at all. I suppose he could be lying but I doubt it. If the Club had offered him an extra year at a much reduced wage, maybe related to how many matches he played I doubt anyone would complain. That they made no effort at all to talk to him seems to me surprising given his immense contribution to the Club.

Unfortunately this is spot on. He's been nowhere near his best for the whole season. We've seen a gear change since the announcement and that tells us all we need to know.
