I'm not allowed to start threads as yet so was hoping someone could for me. Basically i live in Sheffield now and can't get to games much due to work and money. Some of my Sheffield Wednesday fan mates have been showing me some of their pictures from recent away games, as you know they have a great away following and have recently taken to sitting in the crowd at games with Gary Megson masks, at first i was sceptical but as you can see for yourselves it looks like a right laugh when there is a lot of you. He's told me that at their next away game theres probably gonna be around 1000 out of 4000 all in masks.

I've had a word with a printer friend of mine to see if we could do something similar at Sunderland on New years day. My first game of season with Balotelli masks, he's going to get me a price. What do you all reckon and could someone plz start a thread.

that would be pretty fucking funny

I like the Megsons....well, the masks that is. He's a cunt!

Interesting debate about Balotelli ... quite a lot of tossers giving their opinions.

Tosser or not, its a forum where people should give opinions. I guess Im a tosser, but that doesnt change my opinion of the guy. He does cool things that make me want to love him, like handing out money during the holidays or for giggles....but then he does immature things that make me want to get rid of him! Kicking PK's with a shoddy backheel, pouting everytime he is taken out of a game, stupid penalties, telling Micah at practice, if you dont kick it my feet i wont move....its all rubbish. If we were to pick up another striker at some point, I think Mancini will let him go if he doesnt grow up a bit.

I stand corrected, it was from the PK mark. Still a tosser move. If someone tried to pull that off at Etihad stadium, he would be an instant idiot in the mind of city fans. Its disrepectful to the game and the opponent.

Those rumours in the press about him spending 1k on drinks in the Tudor Pub Wythenshawe are not true...Apparently he just walked past. Here's a pic of him outside the pub.

Would that be the one where there's a whistle from the crowd and he turns to question the referee whilst back heeling the ball away in a meaningless friendly against a team no one had heard of till beckscum went there? Yeah, sod the two goals in the derby, let's get rid of him for that.

If he does that in the derby next week and scores, I'll personally build a statue of him outside the Etihad, just because it would be so disrespectful.

The whistle or not, you put the ball in the back of the net proper. Bob's reaction to it during the game and after when he was asked about it.....were exactly how I felt. You get a chance to put the ball in you put it in and worry if a whistle went off or someone screamed or whatever. Not only that incident, every time he is taken out, that angry look and the general posture.....its not healthy for the spirit of a club. All I have to do is sit back and wait for him to do something else. If he doesnt, cheers. Great actually ! If he does, and Bob gets rid of him.....I wont be upset, thats all.

Mixed feelings really.
I was at the match for Rodney Marsh's debut. He was a fantastic player and a genius with the ball.
City were 4 points in the lead at the end of March...

How dare he look upset when he's taken off. He should be more like Bridge and give his caddy a ring to see if they can get a quick round in instead.

If a player's taken off when we're comfortable, it's probably to rest them and I'd expect them to understand. If we're struggling I'd expect them to be upset as we're not good enough and they were obviously part of the problem.

If he does it on the pitch, who cares whether he smiles or not. Problem is he's not doing as well as he could/should on the pitch and hence the questions come up.

If he was scoring one a game he could punch a disabled child fan every time he left the pitch for all I'd care (partly as I'm neither disabled or a child)

with all due disrespect, you have no idea what is good for the spirit of the club. I don't think a city player has said a bad word about balotelli, and it seems to me like they all get along and joke with each other quite well. A professional being upset about getting subbed is not news at all. Shit, I'm not happy if I get subbed off during a sunday league game ... I imagine it is something a bit more serious for professionals.

Much prefer balotelli's attitude to bridge's.

Balotelli has not only won over the British media but also fans from most other clubs, including the rags, with his mix of antics and football genius. He may be a maveric but no-one has disputed his heart is in the right place. Gascoigne and Cantona may be seen as predecessors but neither occupied the global attention of Mario today. He is young but with the the potential to be an all time superstar like the original Ronaldo and Weah. Mancini deserves credit and not just for the development of Balotelli.

For the first time in our history we have players who are recognised as amongst the best on the worlds stage as associated with City. The "Why Always Me", shouldered goal and other Mario facts and myths will live beyond the current generation. As long as he delivers on the pitch we should just enjoy the making of a legend as well as his team mates who are destined to make history.
