Disgusting finish?
Have you any idea about football?

There was no other way to finish it. The finish was SUPERB giving the occasion, situation, position of defender, bad ball behind etc etc etc etc ... Chances like this are converted 1 out of 10 times.

Overall - I blame Mancini first, then the players.
You cant say that we didnt have other chances, that our flanks werent providing, because they did. Both Edin and Aguero could have been much calmer and smarter in front of their goal.

And Im afraind this season is over for us, but also hope that we will change our manager.

I really dont know.. I mean, I generaly like Italians, but... Its hard for me to find the reason to believe that Mancini will sort this team out and make something out of this. I also have impression that, under him, players arent getting any better but the opposite.

I remember Aguero when he just came, he was more complete player. Now, it occured to me that they dont pass each other the ball because they're afraid for their status in the team and try to do it all by themselves. So, the manager created some kind of tension between them, and therefore we have no true partnerships infront, which is big part of our problem.

Dzeko's part in the whole move, including the finish, was superb.

His efforts in the rest of the game though were utterly pathetic.

Dzeko's part in the whole move, including the finish, was superb.

I was thinking at half time that Edin had done ok. He won balls in the air or at least challenged well for them to make it hard for the opposition so did that part of his job ok and the goal was very good in all aspects from his point of view. BUT he keeps looking as though he isn't putting the effort in and is anything but slick when he does get on the ball. It's like he's been drugged.

His lack of energy always gets shown up when we play poorly and we need players who really put it in. He along with Samir just don't seem to have that in them but today we had a whole bunch of players playing crap.Is there something going on?

I thought Southampton tired in the last 20 minutes but they still had more than we did.The mistakes started before they went on the pitch and the players just kept making them.

My thoughts nearing the end turned to the Sheik. What would he be thinking after that?

Are you talking a change in manager mate ;-)

I was asked if failing to win the league but winning the FA cup would save Mancini's job. It's just an opinion but I think the decision about him staying or going will already have been taken. It's quite possible that the Sheik wants him to stay on but that performance really made me wonder what's going on and I think anyone would wonder the same.

It wasn't just about shocking mistakes but more the fact that Southampton, even if they didn't actually rip our defence apart and create countless opportunities, outplayed us in basically all parts of the game and especially tactically and with their desire and energy.

The worst thing of all is I found myself agreeing with Craig Burley and that's totally unacceptable.

We were outplayed because they wanted it more. Perhaps with winning the league, our players have grown a little arrogant. I hope this result sends a message to players and managers that this is unacceptable.

In reality mate, and taking everything into consideration, I want every single one of them sacked, including Zab's. We couldn't even pass the ball. 25 million, 38 million pound players not being able to pass a ball?

This had nothing to do with Mancini but if the players have decided to have a rest, he's got to go. Add to that most of the players out there today. Absolutely no Bollox and not one of them took charge. Yaya is not a leader.

You're too serious, I miss Vassell. In fact, Vassell was much better than Aguero!

Can't say that I did as what I saw is pretty well what I see every time I watch them train. The mood looked good in general but I did say that the teamwork part was almost in slow motion at times.I didn't see that to be an issue and he was drilling certain things into them which is what he does.He wasn't drilling them to be out of position like we saw often enough today.

Then there was the shortness of the session.Again there is no reason why it shouldn't be short after most have been involved in midweek games and travel but it was unusually short and I suppose lacked the intensity I have often seen but it was the day before a game. And yes it was Carlos who was missing as Inside City or Sharon's pictures made obvious kindly showed

We probably need a kind draw in the cup to get us any further, and that is assu toming we don't cock it up v Leeds.

Yeah, and if we're not extremely 100% careful FFP will get us, force the Sheik out, cause us to sell the Etihad Stadium, move to Platt Lane, we'll get relegated, stick with Mancini, drive up our debts with shite purchases, and ultimately be forced to merge with the green/yellow mini-scum through a hostile takeover.

Do you think that would be "subpar" though?

So there are teamwork elements in slow motion. This is being translated perfectly onto the pitch! Training should be intense at times, is it ever, or is it slow and regimented so that Mancini can indulge and get his methodical approach over?

How often do they practice passing back to Hart? I'm so sick of watching him on the ball, it's bloody dreadful. There was a throw in today when 3-1 down, 20 yards inside their own half. I think it was zaba, but it was thrown to toure who passed it back to hart from inside their half. It was almost a first time pass, nobody particularly tight and it wasn't obvious that he'd looked up to weigh up all the other options.

It was a perfect example of the slow laboured approach that we're playing recently, but in what was probably a must win game, I couldn't understand the logic. And don't get me started on the subs...

Anyway, have you seen us train with Garcia at the back at all?

When i saw the players I thought we'd play:

Hart
Zabs Lescott Clichy
Barry Garcia
Nasri silva
Toure
Aguerro Dzeko

When attacking. And one of Barry / Garcia dropping to help when they had the ball.

This is based on Mancini already tinkering with 3 at the back.

How did they train this week?
