Have you any idea about football?
There was no other way to finish it. The finish was SUPERB giving the occasion, situation, position of defender, bad ball behind etc etc etc etc ... Chances like this are converted 1 out of 10 times.
Overall - I blame Mancini first, then the players.
You cant say that we didnt have other chances, that our flanks werent providing, because they did. Both Edin and Aguero could have been much calmer and smarter in front of their goal.
And Im afraind this season is over for us, but also hope that we will change our manager.

Dzeko's part in the whole move, including the finish, was superb.
His efforts in the rest of the game though were utterly pathetic.

I was thinking at half time that Edin had done ok. He won balls in the air or at least challenged well for them to make it hard for the opposition so did that part of his job ok and the goal was very good in all aspects from his point of view. BUT he keeps looking as though he isn't putting the effort in and is anything but slick when he does get on the ball. It's like he's been drugged.
His lack of energy always gets shown up when we play poorly and we need players who really put it in. He along with Samir just don't seem to have that in them but today we had a whole bunch of players playing crap.Is there something going on?

I thought Southampton tired in the last 20 minutes but they still had more than we did.The mistakes started before they went on the pitch and the players just kept making them.
My thoughts nearing the end turned to the Sheik. What would he be thinking after that?
Are you talking a change in manager mate ;-)

I was asked if failing to win the league but winning the FA cup would save Mancini's job. It's just an opinion but I think the decision about him staying or going will already have been taken. It's quite possible that the Sheik wants him to stay on but that performance really made me wonder what's going on and I think anyone would wonder the same.
It wasn't just about shocking mistakes but more the fact that Southampton, even if they didn't actually rip our defence apart and create countless opportunities, outplayed us in basically all parts of the game and especially tactically and with their desire and energy.
The worst thing of all is I found myself agreeing with Craig Burley and that's totally unacceptable.

Wow. You're normally pretty level headed but you're either pissed, have suddenly developed a short memory or you've only supported City for 3 years.....

doug, did you have any indication in training yesterday that they would roll over like this today?

We probably need a kind draw in the cup to get us any further, and that is assu toming we don't cock it up v Leeds.

Can't say that I did as what I saw is pretty well what I see every time I watch them train. The mood looked good in general but I did say that the teamwork part was almost in slow motion at times.I didn't see that to be an issue and he was drilling certain things into them which is what he does.He wasn't drilling them to be out of position like we saw often enough today.
Then there was the shortness of the session.Again there is no reason why it shouldn't be short after most have been involved in midweek games and travel but it was unusually short and I suppose lacked the intensity I have often seen but it was the day before a game. And yes it was Carlos who was missing as Inside City or Sharon's pictures made obvious kindly showed
